Teachers work second or third jobs, forgo their personal needs, and spend money out of their own pockets so that their students can access essential school supplies. It’s not okay. Teachers do so much for our communities. It’s time that we #StandUp4Teachers and get them the support they need to provide their students with a quality education. I #StandUp4Teachers because as an employee of AdoptAClassroom.org, I know how very real and daunting the challenges of inequities in K-12 education are. We need systemic change to overcome entrenched issues. But there is so much power and possibility in the everyday, seemingly small actions we can take today to lift up teachers and students as they head back to school this year. Will you join me?
