As an MBBS doctor, I've come to realize that the impact of our work extends far beyond clinical practice. Research, even at the grassroots level, holds the potential to revolutionize the healthcare landscape in India. 🩺 Why Research Matters. Evidence-Based Practice: Through rigorous research, we can develop evidence-based guidelines that improve patient care and outcomes. Innovative Solutions: Research fosters innovation, leading to the discovery of new treatments and technologies tailored to our unique population.Policy Influence: High-quality research can inform health policies, ensuring they are effective and relevant to our nation's needs. 🌟 Real-World Impact: Take, for instance, the work of MBBS graduates who have investigated local health issues, such as the prevalence of certain diseases or the effectiveness of traditional medicine. Their findings have led to:Improved Treatment Protocols: Customized protocols that better address the health challenges faced by our communities. Enhanced Public Health Initiatives: More targeted and effective health campaigns and vaccination drives.Community Education: Increased awareness and education on critical health issues, empowering people to take charge of their health. 🚀 The Path Forward: As we navigate our medical careers, let's embrace the role of a researcher. Even small-scale studies conducted with dedication can pave the way for monumental changes. Collaboration with academic institutions, government bodies, and fellow healthcare professionals will amplify our impact.Let’s harness the power of research to build a healthier, stronger India. Together, we can make a difference!#HealthcareInnovation #ResearchImpact #MBBS #MedicalResearch #IndiaHealthCare #EvidenceBasedMedicine

"The number of undergraduate (UG) seats has increased significantly, while postgraduate (PG) seats have remained stagnant. Every aspiring medical student should have the opportunity to complete their PG education, and we must aim for a 1:1 ratio of UG to PG seats. In terms of quality, many talented physicians are attending global universities to further their knowledge. To address the quality of future doctors, we need to develop a combined physical-digital, or "phygital," model and enhance skill-based education. The phygital model is the way forward, with innovation, integration, and implementation as the key strategies for the future." - Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences at the 7th Edition of the MANKIND PHARMA LTD presents Times Now Doctor’s Day Conclave 2024, strategic partner Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited powered by Lupin and in association with GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai. The narratives I've heard around Public Health/Community Medicine while interacting with different kinds of leaders in India, Let's change this narrative to remove taboos/mental abuse within this industry, 1. We're hiring, however we're not interested in MBBS MD (Community Medicine) because Doctors who take MD Community Medicine after MBBS, are the ones who couldn't crack any other seat in NEET PG, ❌❌ we would rather hire MBBS MPH (Abroad) because if they spent money on their MPH abroad they must be very passionate about public health ❌❌ MBBS MD Community Medicine are dynamic doctors with great skills in Research, Academics and can also be great General Physicians ✅ 2. You must've got an MPH from abroad because you didn't clear Neet-PG in India ❌ NO I never attempted NEET-PG even once because I was never interested in getting an MD, atleast not just yet ✅ I have taken MBBS MPH by choice, given the versatility behind the coursework and the immense job opportunities within academics and the research industry ✅ 3. MPH, 'Waise koi bhaari degree nahi hai' meaning MPH isn't a very great/heavy degree, This one came from a very renowned person in the field of public health, with national and international awards, being an MPH by self ❌ Don't be carried away by seniors/leaders who make false promises, Believe in yourself and keep your ear shut to all these kinds of nonsense, infact be a whistleblower, sometimes when needed, it may cost you a job or a termination, but never your 'credibility' 4. Every 'Tom, Dick and Harry' has an MPH in India, was the latest, very disheartening to hear from a person, especially to whom I looked upto, until now ❌ Save your energy for something worth it! P.S. For all the MPH Graduates out there irrespective of your bachelor degree, don't let anyone belittle YOU because of your choices. OWN them. #MPH #PUBLICHEALTH #communitymedicine #Doctors A beautiful picture from rural India, Public Health takes you to beautiful people and places.
