Learn how to audit your interview stories on your own ⤵️ (from a career coach who's spent 100s of hours auditing candidates' interview stories) Everyone’s heard of STAR by now, yea? Cool. I like to remove the T because I find it repetitive. Situation, Action, Result is the perfect interview story formula. But just because you have the S, the A and the R in your story doesn't mean it's good. Here's how to audit each section: 🔍 Situation Ask yourself - did I provide enough so someone with ZERO knowledge of what I do could follow my story? Then ask yourself - did I share any unnecessary details? If it’s not necessary to follow the story, get rid of it. 🔍 Action This is the one a lot of people screw up. Tell me what YOU did. I don’t care about your product, your company, your team. I want to know YOU. Ask yourself - what is the interviewer learning about ME by telling this story? What can they expect me to do or NOT do in a similar situation in the future? 🔍 Result Ideally, mention an improvement in a number if you can. (X increased by.... Y decreased by....) If it’s bad ending (like a customer churning).. end with what you did to prevent that bad thing from happening in the future. Hope this helps!!✌🏻 PS. I talk about how to audit your own interview stories in detail in Episode 3 of my podcast.. I'll drop the link in the comments! __ #customersuccess #jobsearchadvice

An interview for content is never "just an interview" - it's a gateway to more content opportunities! Many of us interview experts and leaders for our content. One of the things that makes video interviews so rewarding to me is that I approach them with the mindset of: "This is not just an interview..." Because an interview with a peer/expert can also become: 🎥 A video for YouTube 🎧 A podcast episode 🖊️ Blog posts on topics that arose during the interview 📱 Short videos for social media 👈 Engaging graphics and carousels 💬 LinkedIn posts that drive conversation 👋 An opportunity to meet and connect with a whole new audience There's so much opportunity for engagement, connection, and growth! What's your favorite way to repurpose an expert interview? #videocontent #contentrepurposing #videointerviews

Such good advice! At AuditMiner we have a lot of people who are interested in getting involved - it's pretty easy to prioritize those that: 1) Reach out and ask if we're hiring - shows initiative 2) Reads/listens to some of the links in our Media page - shows curiosity 3) Responds promptly - shows speed and bias toward action

Have you ever been “ghosted” after a job interview? You left the interview excited about moving to the next round or getting the job offer, and you hear nothing. Days turn into weeks. And your frustration only grows. You believe you should be treated better than what you have been. I get that. But many job seekers often overlook the real reasons around timelines, processes, and the legal reasons as to how interviews are conducted. One of the biggest complaints I hear is how job seekers want feedback on how they did in the job interview and they never get it. There are reasons why you don’t get the feedback you want, and to be honest, you’ve already gotten feedback. They either called you or they didn’t. Hiring managers, recruiters and HR professionals are overworked too! And it’s not their job to help you be better at your next interview. I share my experiences as a hiring manager and coach in today’s episode of The Mid-Career GPS Podcast called “Decoding the Silence: Strategies for Understanding and Seeking Job Interview Feedback.” You can listen to it wherever you get your podcasts. I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this topic of interview feedback after you’ve listened to the episode. #interviewpreparation #interviewtips #interviewskills #interviewcoaching

Behind the scenes of an interview, there’s always more than meets the eye! 🎤✨ Every person who has participated in an interview knows: true professionalism is not only about what you say but also how you prepare. Here are a few interesting nuances: 📸 Technical moments. Lighting, sound, and equipment settings – it all matters. But there are those days when things can go wrong. Have you ever had an interview interrupted by a microphone going off? 😂 🎬 Speaker's background. Before sitting down in front of a camera or microphone, it's essential to research the person you’ll be talking to. Their previous experience, achievements, and insights can inspire unexpected questions. 💡 Unpredictability. Despite the most thorough preparation, interviews are always a bit of an improvisation. Speakers can dive into unexpected topics, and sometimes you have to quickly adjust your questions. 🗣 Post-conversation. Sometimes the best insights surface after the formal part: informal discussions that can reveal surprising facts or ideas. In the end, interviews are more than just a Q&A session; they’re about creating an atmosphere where ideas can flow naturally. And sometimes the most impactful moments are those that weren’t planned at all! So stay flexible, and let the conversation lead you to something memorable. 🙌🏻 P.S.
