A profound question posed by Egypt’s Minister of CIT Dr. Amr Talaat during his impactful speech at the 𝐔𝐍 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, where H.E. painted a compelling vision for the Global South. But in Egypt, the answer is clear. 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞. We choose to embrace the boundless opportunities that digital technology offers—bridging gaps, creating jobs, and empowering communities. In Dr. Talaat words, "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬," and nowhere is this more evident than in the lives of Egyptians benefiting from our digital transformation. From the shores of Alexandria to the temples of Aswan, Egypt is witnessing the transformative power of digitalization. Egypt's mission is clear: to 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬, empower 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟓𝟖 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬 through expanded fiber optics, and ensure that 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 as the government digitize its services. It is a day to thank my team in the ministry, who are the true drivers of the sector. Their dedication and expertise are crucial in building an inclusive information society for all Moldovan citizens. ❤️ To point just some achievenments: ▶ The ICT sector has become a leading force in the country's economy, with a volume exceeding 22 billion MDL and an 6.8% share of GDP. ▶ Exports of ICT products and services are on the rise, reaching US$630 million. ▶ The country is actively working to strengthen its national policy and ecosystem frameworks in line with emerging technological trends.
