Long-lasting and reliable = sustainable. PVC pipe once again comes out on top in a study about the reliability of various pipe types. PVC's long-lasting nature is a huge factor in it having the lowest GHG emissions over the course of its full life cycle! Vinyl is regularly the most sustainable option. The changeover from PU to water-based lacquer also took some time at Willy Pfeffer DER SCHREINER GmbH. In the meantime, everything has settled down and surface expert Sebastian Weiss now only sees advantages: "This is where the water-based lacquer simply remains open longer and stays on the surface for longer. And it creates much better levelling. Water-based lacquer always have the same gloss level and the same colour, which is a major improvement." What is your experience with hydro lacquer? #hesselignal #inspiringyou #sustainability #woodcoating #hydrolacquer #waterbasedlacquer

Wood pellets are a sustainable and environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional fuels like coal or oil. Made from compressed sawdust and wood shavings, wood pellets produce minimal emissions and are a more efficient way to heat homes and businesses. Not only are wood pellets a cleaner option, but they also help to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and support the forestry industry. With advancements in technology, wood pellet stoves and boilers are becoming more popular as people look for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs. If you're considering making the switch to wood pellets, now is a great time to do so. Not only will you be helping the environment, but you'll also enjoy the benefits of a clean and efficient heating source. #woodpellets #sustainability #alternativeenergy# Europe # itally#

Ever wondered what happens after a landfill closes? Textured LLDPE or HDPE geomembranes, combined with geocomposite drainage layers, form the backbone of the most common closure system. These layers, topped with a soil cover, prevent rainwater infiltration and methane escape. Many closed landfills are reborn as recreational areas. It's not just closure; it's sustainable transformation. 🔄🚮 #LandfillClosure #SustainableSpaces #GeomembraneSolutions

How to effectively manage the Solid Waste? 🤔🤔 How to fix this landfill problems? 🤒🤒 Yes Yes, we got its answer by DW, but first you should know that the increasing volume and complexity of waste associated with the modern economy is posing a serious risk to ecosystems and human health. Every year, an estimated 11.2 billion tonnes of solid waste is collected worldwide and decay of the organic proportion of solid waste is contributing about 5 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions (i.e. Methane). Every year, an estimated 11.2 billion tons of solid waste are collected worldwide. In urban India, solid waste management (SWM) has become one of the biggest development challenges, only 83% of waste is collected, and only 30% of that is processed. Improper waste disposal produces hazardous gases and leachates as a result of microbial decomposition, environmental factors, and land-filling practices. Therefore, its reduction and mitigation is very important. I found this video very interesting and could be a game changer in Indian scenario. Hopefully someday, policy makers will give attention to this, so share it and check it out by yourself. https://lnkd.in/gAf9fs4Q

The NEW Harmonica project has been formed with the goal of bringing in complementary knowledge and expertise, skills and networks to reduce nutrient emissions in four catchments: Meuse (Belgium and the Netherlands), Neagh-Bann (N. Ireland), and Wye (England). 💧 Time to introduce our first catchment >> the Dutch river basin Meuse The Meuse rises in France and flows through Belgium and the Netherlands to drain into the North Sea. The Dutch part covers the provinces of Limburg and Brabant. To meet the objectives of the Water Framework Directive, it is necessary to reduce nutrient loads (N and P) to most surface water bodies and to reduce nitrate leaching in several (vulnerable) drinking water abstraction areas. The main nutrient loads to surface water are runoff and leaching from agricultural soils, discharges of urban waste water treatment plants, and inflowing water from Belgium and Germany.

💧👷♀️ 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 ✔️ A city in West Australia has started putting netting over drainage pipes to reduce pollution. ✔️ The City of Kwinana has hailed the trial of drainage nets a success as it continues its journey towards less waste and increased sustainability. ✔️ The nets were first installed at just two locations in an effort to reduce trash from drainage systems within the city, particularly in areas where road drainage is discharged into public open spaces and reserves. ✔️ During the trial that lasted a few months, 370kg of debris consisting of food wrappers, plastic bottles, sand and tree leaves was cleaned out of the nets. ♻ 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒕. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- *𝘊𝘰𝘱𝘺𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘳. The presence of microplastics in sewage is a major concern due to potential environmental and health impacts. This is heightened by the fact that Municipal Sewage Treatment Plants discharge 97 to 98 percent of treated effluent directly into waterways. True Water's world-leading wastewater treatment systems tackle this challenge by dispersing treated effluent to land instead of waterways. Our advanced technology delivers high-quality treated effluent that is safe for community reuse, reducing strain on natural water sources.
