Work Package Wednesday: One task within WP3 is to provide cross-cutting support to the other WPs on issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). This task is led by Stephanie Zellers (postdoctoral researcher, University of Helsinki). She has been collaborating with all other WPs on their tasks and has helped deliver some valuable outputs! Importantly, she focuses on both social/demographic diversity of the researchers and study populations, as well as epistemic diversity, or the diversity of knowledge generation and fields, when assisting the other WPs. WP5 recently pre-registered protocols for five different intervention studies on OSF. Each intervention study has different methods and therefore also have different areas where EDI is relevant. For example, the randomised controlled trial of computational reproducibility checks, led by Gustav Nilsonne, will involve the collection of manuscript-level information such as number of authors, institution of the corresponding author, and region of origin. On the other hand, the two studies on EQIPD led by Björn Gerlach will involve interviews and surveys, so we will collect much more comprehensive demographic information and participants’ view of research climate in their unit. WP2 also recently met in-person to finalise the annotation guidelines for iRISE-SOLES and the later systematic reviews. Here, Stephanie provided ideas for how EDI dimensions could be incorporated into the annotation. We will record metadata for each article, like number and location of authors to evaluate team science and international collaboration, as well as annotate whether each article discusses EDI, research culture, and/or research climate. #WP_Wednesday #horizoneurope #irise_eu #reproducibility #researchintegrity

It is not possible for NWO to communicate an exact closing date because it depends on the number of grant applications yet to be received. Researchers who submit a grant application after the grant ceiling of the 2024 round has been reached, can apply for funding through the Open Technology Programme 2025 call, which will be open from 13 January 2025. NWO will publish the OTP 2025 call for proposals and grant application annexes by the end of November 2024. Please note that NWO uses different application documentation for the 2025 round than for the 2024 call. However, the form ‘OTP 2024 declaration co-funding’ confirming committed co-funding can still be used for the 2025 round.
