A New EU rule in effect! From today, July 3, all drinks bottles must have plastic caps attached, under new EU rules. What you need to know: - From July 3, single-use plastic products can only be placed on the market if the caps remain attached to the containers during use. - The rule applies to beverage containers up to 3 liters, including composite beverage packaging. - Exempted from the rule are containers made of glass or metal and food for special medical purposes. This follows EU Directive 2019/904, internally adopted by Ordinance 6/2021. Manufacturers are already investing in compliant solutions and consumers will not feel major changes. The Return Guarantee Guarantee System (RGS) ensures the recognition and acceptance of bottles with or without caps in RVM machines and manual collection.
