5 benefits of adopting an international copywriter Adopting an international copywriter not only makes life - and business - better for obvious reasons (look how adorable we are :) ). It also benefits agencies in many other ways. Here are just 5: 1. Our copy adapts to any tone of voice, audience, brand, brief, whatever. Why? We are internationals, we are ridiculously adaptable. 2. We bring new and unexpected perspectives and ideas to every project. Why? We are internationals, we have all worked in at least 2 different countries. For example: I am Venezuelan, I write in Spanish and English, and all my copy experience comes from working for German brands (Netto, Nivea, DB, Ergo, BVG, MAN, etc). 3. We can turn local clients into international clients with our global perspectives 🗺️ and English proficiency. 4. We can contribute to the presence of agencies on social media. Imagine a new-hires post: “Say hi to our new team members! German name, German name, and JORGE...” (Wow, so sophisticated, diverse, and chic). 5. We purr (more than usual) when our ideas are produced. Seems like a no-brainer, right? Come to your nearest shelter and adopt an international copywriter today. Like the cutie in the picture :) He’s looking for a forever agency and is waiting for you to reach out! His portfolio, CV and extras are in his profile. DM me for more adoption details. #copywriting #advertising #adcfstvl #internationaltalent #hamburg #germany #adc Art Directors Club (ADC)

This role may say "editor" in the description but if you are a data analyst, this might be up your alley.
Media + Tech Leader • Editor-in-Chief, Atlas Obscura • Former EIC, Pacific Standard + SSIR • Launched The Atlantic's Tech, Science + Health Sections
❗Hiring: We're looking for a managing editor to join the small but ambitious editorial team at Atlas Obscura. This is a new role for us. Lots of details in the job description but, in short, we need someone to help us organize our work and make more data-informed decisions — oversee our Airtable instance, track KPIs and performance metrics, improve workflows and documentation, etc. Not an editing or writing role, but you should be able to make a big impact here pretty quickly, and there's lots of room to build and collaborate, across editorial, with outside vendors, with other departments, etc. Based anywhere in the U.S.

It’s hard for brands these days to stay culturally relevant. If you’re following what culture says is cool, you risk being cringe and unoriginal. But if you’re out of touch or tone deaf, you risk being left out of the conversation or getting cancelled. Neither camps are good. You also don’t want to sit on the fence and stand for nothing. This is why brands can benefit from hiring a cultural journalist, not just any copywriter or marketing strategist (who spends their days in the same place, in an office and not out in the world). Someone who is out in the world, ideally in a big city like New York, the cultural centre of gravity. Journalists know how to find the story, connect it to a larger trend/make it universal, understand why it’s important right now, and why people should care. This is what’s required when defining a company’s position + POV. It’s brave work, because most brands just want to play it safe. That is the opportunity and a blue ocean for the ambitious. Companies should partner with writers who can connect culture to creative. Culture and business collide more than ever. Bring in culture commentators into marketing teams. #culturewriter #journalist #copywriter #branding #advertising

If you're a Copywriter from regions outside of the EU and North America, keep reading 👇 Let's talk about the elephant in the room: the battle of finding English copywriting gigs online when you're not from Europe or North America. It's like trying to catch a unicorn – elusive, magical, and often feels like a fantasy. As a copywriter from Morocco, the struggle is real. Despite having the skills, the portfolio, and the passion, breaking into certain markets or landing those coveted projects can feel daunting. Uncertainty about job security is no joke. Here's the deal: many clients and agencies have their biases. They might have a preference for someone who hails from the familiar territories. It's not about talent – it's about perception and comfort zones. Unfortunately, that can mean doors closing before you even get a chance to knock. Remote work was supposed to be the great equalizer, right? The promise of breaking down geographical barriers and recruiting talent from all corners of the globe. Yet, for many of us, that promise feels more like a distant dream. But hey, here's the thing: we're not giving up. Despite the setbacks, the rejections, and the moments of doubt, we're still here, pushing forward. Because we know our worth, we know our talent, and we refuse to let geography define us. So yes, while the road may be rocky, it's not impassable. Keep applying, and refuse to be boxed in by limitations. It's about finding those clients who value talent over geography, who see the potential in diversity, and who are willing to give you a seat at the table. To my fellow international copywriters, I see you. I know the struggle, and I applaud your resilience. Keep pushing, keep hustling, and remember that your worth transcends borders. #Copywriting #internationalcopywriters #GlobalTalent #remotework #unemployment #freelancecopywriters

I'm hiring messaging strategists... And I added a new "filter" question to the application process... (Gotta make sure we're the same page about we're actually doing when we "write copy.") Weeds out a lot of "copywriters" pretty quick. The question: "What's the difference between messaging and copywriting?" Obviously, there's multiple ways to answer this question. So it's not about having the "right answer" but seeing how people think about it. Feel free to drop your answer. Would love to hear it. And if you're curious about joining the Signal team on messaging and copy projects (contract basis), shoot me a DM with your answer to the question.
