Last night was very humbling. I had the opportunity to return to the place that gave me the tools to restart my life, and I will forever be grateful for that. Since it is Movember, which focuses on Mens Health, I have a story to share. I recently passed the 6yr mark of sobriety, but it felt a bit different this year. The first 5 years of sobriety, I took it very seriously and put all my effort into changing my frame of mind from very negative to positive. After receiving my 5-year medallion last year, things changed. I started taking every aspect of my life for granted because my life on paper looked great. I didn't take my sobriety and spirituality serious, my ego was telling me, "Jeff, you don't need that anymore. You got this." I was isolating myself and didn't reach out to my positive influences, which led to months of depression and recently planning my demise. Normal people would say, "You have a great life, how could you be depressed?" I suffer from depression because I'm not one of the normal people. I've suffered from depression since I was 13 years old, but fortunately, I now have the tools to recover. I share this because many men don't have the tools available. Please, if you're suffering inside, make a call and talk to someone. It may save your life. Take care of yourselves. 9-8-8: Suicide Crisis Helpline #mensmentalhealth #sobriety #Movember #recovery #depression
Last night, it was an honor for Klass Drywall to attend Westover Treatment Centre's Thursday Night Meet & Greet. We were proud to present them with a donation raised through our second annual Golf Tournament, and we’re grateful to see how our community continues to come together for such an important cause. Klass Drywall President, Jeff Pomietlarz, also had the privilege of speaking at the event, where he shared his personal experiences and offered words of hope and encouragement to those in attendance. It was a truly inspiring evening, and we’re thankful to be part of a network that supports healing and growth. #GivingBack #CommunitySupport #KlassDrywallinc #WestoverTreatmentCentre #HopeInAction #construction

What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time. Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this. Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership
TLDR: I've been working on something pretty cool! "The Maple Street Mantra: Help People, Serve Others, Be A Part Of The Community" is why I joined the team. I'm grateful to Maple Street Biscuit Company for allowing me to take on something so near and dear to who we are. *Maple Street Silly Socks* a portion of sock sales will go directly to LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services and U.F. Health, supporting their incredible work to maximize the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation. This is particularly meaningful because giving back has always been a big part of who I am. From working with the Miami Children's Initiative during my time at the University of Florida to my work with the Harrison County Community Foundation, I've seen firsthand the impact we can make when we come together. Your support means the world and will help create positive change in our community. P.S. The socks are pretty cool as well https://lnkd.in/gKJnfwB6

DLP Capital is all about housing. And for many, a house is emblematic of family. But in some parts of the world, children never get to know much of either. That’s why the DLP Positive Returns Foundation is going the extra mile (well, more like 2,540 miles, to be exact) to help out orphaned teens in Guatemala City. These are teens who, for the most part, have never known a home as they near adulthood. Through the non-profit organization Transforming Futures, orphaned teens and others without stable homes are taught life skills, provided healthy meals, and offered spiritual guidance… Keep reading: https://lnkd.in/efttykS3

The way to lead with actions not just words.
Austin Bank's allegiance to the communities it serves continues to manifest itself through contributions in direct support of local education, the arts, literacy, health and housing needs as well as countless hours of volunteer service given by Austin Bank employees. B.E. Blessed is a non-profit organization in the Conroe area with the mission of providing school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essentials to low-income students throughout their community. Baily (pictured center) was 6 years old when she realized that not all of her classmates had their own crayons. This inspired her to create B.E. Blessed to provide underprivileged students with the supplies they need to succeed. Since the organization made it's first donation in 2006, they've raised over $230,000 and provided school supplies to over 2,900 students. We are proud to support Baily and B.E. Blessed in their mission to improve the educational outcomes of students throughout the Conroe community and beyond. #WithYouForGood #BEBlessed #ConroeTX

🌟 Sacramento's Big Day of Giving 2024 is just 2 weeks away but early giving starts today! We're excited to spotlight Meristem and asked Emma, 1st year at Meristem, what she's likes about Meristem: "Community!" We couldn't love her answer more. Meristem is where life long friendships are made and students feel a sense of belonging. For some students, it's the first time they've had that. 💙 Give early, learn more about our program, set up a fundraiser page to help us spread the word about our program or give early by visiting our Big Day of Giving webpage: https://lnkd.in/gYR2D49X 💡 BDOG tip: Give with a Golden 1 Credit Union debit or credit card, and your donations will make an outsized impact, because Golden 1 Credit Union is proportionately matching its members' donations — up to $100,000! 🗓️ Mark your calendars for Meristem's in-person Big Day of Giving garden & nature event. More details to come. #AwakenthePossible #BigDayofGiving2024 #bdog24 #Sacramento #Nonprofit #AutismAwareness #AutismAwarenessMonth #Give #WorkSkills #Transition #LifeSkills #Program

Lovelight Solutions is thrilled to team up with Let There Be Light International to provide life changing solar lanterns to 1,000 families. It's amazing how much impact a $15 lantern can provide to a family living without access to electricity. Currently, families in off-grid communities in Uganda spend on average 30% of their income on light! Mostly in the form of kerosene which is unhealthy to breathe. We've been working with this fantastic org over the past 4 years as part of our commitment to donate 1% of our revenues to bring light to those that do not have access to electricity. The org is run by an amazing founder/executive director who takes no salary - maximizing the impact of donations. Your donation will fund a solar lantern for mothers that come to deliver a baby in a community health clinic (Lovelight Solutions is proud to have brought solar power to 6 of them). Most families deliver w/in the home which leads to high infant mortality. Getting mothers to clinics where there is a lit environment saves lives. This program is also amazing for women's empowerment. Typically, everything of value is owned by the male.. now a mom comes home with a solar lantern that is extremely valuable and revolutionary for the family. This is a win-win-win program with cascading benefits. Thanks for considering chipping in to this great project, where your donation will be matched 2-1. Let it Shine! Donate here: https://lnkd.in/gSM-s9rS
Today, we are grateful for the power of light, hope, and community. 🌍💡 Thanks to Lovelight Solutions, your donations will be TRIPLED! Let’s make this season of giving one to remember. Together, we can shine on! 💛 #Thanksgiving #Grateful #GivingTuesday #TripleImpact #SolarForChange #ShineOn #LTBLI #SolarLightsChangeLives
