What’s up at our COMPAMED booth? Michiel Stiers explains the story of the unmet medical need to scale ventilator capacity and how to manage it. The team behind the project gathered at our booth at COMPAMED to showcase how this KU Leuven research evolved into a hardware product that can increase our preparedness and save lives. Haven’t heard of Individualized Shared Ventilation (ISV) yet? Here’s the story: Born from an urgent need during the COVID-19 crisis and first tested at Ziekenhuis Geel, ISV enables individualized airflow for two patients on a single ventilator. The core of this technology is the ‘Flow Modulator’, a hardware component ensuring safe, effective dual support. ISV is a product of true co-creation, combining emergency healthcare expertise from Prof. Dr. Marc Sabbe and his team at KU Leuven and UZ Leuven, airflow insights from Royal Military Academy, Belgium, software support by CODEVID, and hardware development and scalability expertise by our engineers and designers at Comate Engineering & Design. Remember, whatever starts in the Leuven innovation region always goes far beyond. If you’re at COMPAMED, drop by our booth – we’d love to talk about how we can bring your hardware ideas to market. In 2024, we were honoured to have started new collaborations with the following organizations: NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre Together with NLR, we are exploring the capabilities of haptic feedback systems in combination with RF detection, on-body electronics, and spatial awareness for improved performance, operability and technical support in the defence domain. Rheinmetall One of Europe's main suppliers in the defence industry. Together, we’re showcasing how our Mission Navigation Belt (https://lnkd.in/e9sZwBZ7) seamlessly integrates with Rheinmetall’s #TacNet system (https://lnkd.in/eXwSxrN8). This integration empowers soldiers with enhanced safety and hands-free, eyes-free, and ears-free navigation. UMC Utrecht Together with the University Medical Centre Utrecht, we’re exploring the integration of 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, paving the way for a new era of simple, fast, and potentially more affordable #MRI diagnostics.

Inspiring opening session today at #RSNA2024 by Nina Kottler, MD, MS, FSIIM MD, MS, FSIIM “The only way to predict the future is to create it.” I’ve always loved RSNA opening sessions, but this one really resonated with me! I absolutely enjoyed the presentation, especially the wonderfully selected and relevant quotes. The challenges are already here. We need to scale at a level we cannot achieve without technology. At the same time, we should aspire to do better—always strive to do better. This means evolving and redefining our roles. Fortunately, the technology designed to address these challenges is evolving too. “The world will ask you who you are, and if you don't know, the world will tell you.” —Carl Jung As radiologists, it is our responsibility to actively participate in the creation of the technology that will enable us to perform better. We need to analyze our workflows, identifying every small step that could be optimized, and work closely with vendors to ensure they provide what we truly need to enhance and scale every aspect of our jobs. Our roles will change, hopefully toward a more cognitive focus. By leveraging our unique skills, we must prepare to build meaningful human-technology connections that surpass our current capabilities. “It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” —Charles Darwin

Raise the roof! Debuting at AUSA this week is the Stryker MCOTM, the crewed hub that enables protected mission command on a short halt or on the move. Its hybrid-electric drive allows for silent mobility, silent watch and exportable power. It also boasts increased interior space, thanks to a raised roofline, and integrates innovative intra-command post communications to substantively reduce electromagnetic signatures. Our Mission Command on the Move (MCOTM) concept is designed to allow command posts to “hide in plain sight.” Learn more in Booth 703! #AUSA2024 #AUSA #mcotm

Dynamic Line Rating is making all the difference: increasing the gain of the transmission lines while reducing the operational risk - for that we have to monitor each and every span Why? Because each span might be the critical span (the bottleneck) dictating the line capacity #DLR #DynamicLineRating #GET
Thank you for joining Eran Inbar at today's session,"Pursuing Precision: The Hunt for the DLR Critical Span," at the 3rd GETs & DLR 2024 event. In his session, he discussed how Prisma Photonics' optical fiber sensing technology is transforming Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) by providing real-time data across every span at scale, enabling precise capacity management and risk mitigation. Join us tomorrow for a dynamic discussion on Grid Modernization Strategies with GETs and DLR, hosted by Sonja Monica Berlijn. Looking forward to another day of engaging discussions!

Our patented LiFi technology by OLEDCOMM is utilized in various applications. For over a year, our high-speed and secure wireless infrared-based data transmission solution has been operational in Orbit. Oledcomm proudly stands as the first and only LiFi technology provider to achieve this significant milestone. Learn more about this in our blog post "SatelLife: LiFi Explores New Horizons in Space": "Oledcomm Marks Milestone with LiFi Technology on Board the INSPIRE-SAT 7 Nanosatellite. Oledcomm achieved a significant milestone by equipping the INSPIRE-SAT 7 nanosatellite, launched on April 15th into low orbit, with LiFi (Light Fidelity) technology. ….. In practical terms, Oledcomm’s LiFi technology uses LEDs that flash at a very high frequency (30 MHz) to transmit and receive information at high speeds, with minimal latency, in the nanosecond range. Moreover, LiFi can transport up to 3 Gbps, making it an efficient alternative to cables for intra-satellite data transmission."
