Re-sharing a resource from last year on the study: Concurrent Validity and Test-Retest Reliability of VALD ForceDecks Strength, Balance, and Movement Assessment Tasks. The original manuscript is available here: DOI:10.1016/j.jsams.2024.04.014. To support practical application, an online resource was also created: https://lnkd.in/d7EfMJ-V. Aside from providing valuable information, this is a great example of how research can be packaged to ensure it's both accessible and practical for those in the field.

Starting this year on a great note!🎤🌟 I’m happy to share that I’ll be presenting my research paper: “Gastronomic Tourism & Traditional Sweet-Making in Varanasi: Exploring Heritage, Power Dynamics, and Sustainability” at the upcoming conference organised by the International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research Review and Studies (IJMRRS) & SocioScopia. This paper is a deep dive into how gastronomic tourism, gender, class & issues related to sustainability intersect with traditional food practices, using the sweet-making culture of Varanasi as a case study. The research focuses on: 🔍 Heritage & Identity: How the underrepresented art of sweet-making in the city serves as a vital cultural and gastronomic marker. ⚖️ Power Dynamics: Analyzing the influence of gender, caste, and class on the production and distribution of sweets, and how these social structures shape what we consume, in turn dictating what survives as evidence of culture. 🌱 Sustainability: Investigating the environmental and ethical challenges faced by traditional sweet-making in the context of mass tourism, global food trends, and safeguarding gastronomical heritage. This work reflects my ongoing exploration of Indians sweets & pastry. If you're attending (100% of all proceeds will be donated), or have expertise in gastronomic tourism, food heritage, pastry arts or sustainability, I’d love to engage in a dialogue and welcome constructive discussions on the topic. Simultaneously, if you’re working on similar research, let’s connect and exchange ideas beyond the conference! A big thanks to Vani Dhaka for coordinating the opportunity and seamless communication throughout the application process. #GastronomicTourism #CulinaryHeritage #FoodStudies #Sustainability #FoodHistory #CulturalPreservation #TraditionalSweets #Varanasi #FoodResearch #CulinaryArts #TourismIndustry

Sometimes we get a request to visualize scientific research or policy documentation. In this policy paper we did both. Having clear visualizations increases the communicative power of your research and gets everyone on the same page regarding policy. https://lnkd.in/eda-i7zr
