Indian #steel production is shifting towards scrap-based methods to become more eco-friendly and resource-efficient. The National Steel Policy aims for 35-40% of steel production to come from electric arc furnaces (EAF) that use scrap by 2030. Major companies like ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS), Tata Steel, and JSW Steel are investing in scrap processing centers and EAF plants. This will significantly reduce reliance on virgin materials like #ironore and coking #coal , leading to lower carbon emissions and natural resource extraction. For instance, Tata Steel's new EAF plant in Ludhiana and its recycling plant in Rohtak are examples of this shift. JSW Steel has also acquired a scrap shredding company to secure its supply chain. This increased use of #scrap is projected to save energy, water, and #greenhouse gas emissions while reducing reliance on expensive #imports .

Business booming in India claims MyCrane Digital platform reports surge in client registrations and crane orders from India. Online crane rental platform MYCRANE says it has seen a surge in new client registrations and project enquiries from the Indian market. The company has recently processed customer orders for crawler, rough terrain and telescopic cranes with a capacity of up to 300 tonnes for engineering, procurement, and construction companies Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Tata Projects and KEC International Ltd. The cranes are being deployed on a pan-India basis, with MyCrane-enabled lifting projects also currently underway in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan, among other locations. MyCrane claims the latest customer registrations reflect the diverse appeal of its platform. New clients include: Reliance Industries Limited, owner of the largest oil refinery in the world; Adani Ports and SEZ (Mundra Port); the multinational Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC); and petrochemical company Nayara Energy. “MyCrane is making great strides in India, which is an enthusiastic proponent of digital tools in all aspects of business and personal life,” said Andrei Geikalo, MyCrane founder and CEO. “It is very encouraging to see the platform being so well supported – both by our ever-growing customer base and by top crane rental companies across the country.” Amit Khurana, of registered client KEC International, said: “Having used MyCrane for around a year we welcome the innovation that has been provided by the platform. We appreciate not having to manually contact different equipment providers with the same request, as MyCrane allows us to conveniently post our requirements in one place, then receive a broad range of quotes in a standardised format, with all the information we need. This encourages efficiency and improves our business processes.” MyCrane says India is one of its three key focus markets, along with the USA and Saudi Arabia. Other recent customer registrations in India include: • Arjas Steel , Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh • Tata Chemicals, Mithapur, Gujarat • AFCONS Infrastructure Limited - A Shapoorji Pallonji Group Company Infrastructure Ltd, Mumbai, Maharashtra • Dilip Buildcon Ltd., Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh • Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited Fertilizers and Chemicals, Kota, Rajasthan • Shapoorji Pallonji - Engineering & Construction (SP E&C) & Company, Pune, Maharashtra • ITD Cementation India Limited Cementation, Maharashtra • Patel Infrastructure Limited, Ahmedabad, Gujarat • Jhajharia Nirman Limited, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh • V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority Port Trust, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu • MKC Infrastructure Ltd - India, Anjar, Gujarat • PSP Projects Limited, Ahmedabad, India Image: Andrei Geikalo (right) with Mr.Rajiv waichal, MyCrane India Luke King
