I typically don't put "upcoming" events here, but we have coalesced a full day (1:30-9:00 pm) Ennes style technical media event with short notice, with excellent topics, speakers, and a plethora of willing sponsors. We are planning a three-day major regional Ennes in May 2025. But NOW, we were able to put together for this year (just two weeks from now, May 22 Wednesday afternoon and evening) this May 2024 "mini bits" taster. At times, coordinating with other likeminded groups (NATE, IEEE, SMPTE, state broadcast associations, and the like), very high-quality events are much easier to put together. The stars aligned and local folks stepped up in a useful and positive way. If you are in the mid-Atlantic area (this is being hosted in downtown DC by National Geographic) on the 22nd, we would be very pleased to see you in person. ZOOM remote options also included. Sponsorship covered out meals, so NO COST. We'd appreciate any cross promotion you could link us to since this came together "last minute." Keynote by Renard Jenkins in person; SMPTE president and Jim Ragsdale remote; SBE director. it's a very cool and fascinating video centric technical event. Do take a look at the program and hope to see you there! We are labeling it "mini bits" as a precursor to next year's BITS by the BAY. Which has always when run, pre pandemic, sold out early. More to come on that in near future. for now, come to our MINI BITS if you can make it. And thanks in advance for any possible promotion you can do for us. Have a look! https://lnkd.in/e3cGwuzx the SMPTE site a bit more up to date today, but we will update ours soon too. smptedc.org

Calgary, we see you, and the world wants in. So let's do this... At Digital Journal, we don’t just cover innovation — we aim to connect the dots, and elevate voices. As the official media partner for #InnovationWeekYYC (here's what we've been covering: https://lnkd.in/gz85Wg9A), we're publishing this post as a welcome mat to connect the inside with the out, and the outside with the in. All you have to do is introduce yourself. 🔴 Calgary innovators: Drop into the comments and tell us (1) who you are, (2) what you you do, and (3) details of who you want to meet, collaborate with, help, or talk to. Or simply just tell a story about your industry or company. 🌍 For our audience outside Calgary: Curious about the city’s innovation scene? Let us know who you are, what you’re working on, and what you’re looking for—collaborators, clients, talent, or even just great coffee recos. 🙋🏽♀️ For the nominators in the crowd: This is a chance to promote someone you think others should meet. Drop into the comments with an @mention or a shout out. Then, come back and read the comments. Help connect people. Reach out to someone sharing their story. We’ve heard local innovators loud and clear: You’re pushing for more storytelling. Our hope is that this welcome mat will serve as a platform for people to meet others. And of course, our team of journalists is also watching for great stories. Over to you ⤵️

In the ranking of the world's most liveable cities, Budapest has made significant improvements: advancing seven places to become 32nd, thus entering the group of cities whose rankings have improved the most in the past 12 months. 🇭🇺 🚀 This can positively influence interest in the Hungarian capital. However, the international audience is particularly active on review platforms, and responding to opinions should not be hindered solely by language barriers. To handle the increasing number of international guest reviews, it is worth considering the acquisition of software that can assist the work with automations. Those interested can read more about the ranking of the world's most liveable cities in the article on bbj.hu 📰 #AIinHospitality #FutureofHospitality #Hospitality

Today’s a big day for us! We’ve been hard at work on a new brand identity, and we’re excited to share it with you. The journey began six years ago when our founder Benjamin Dada started a tech blog mirroring Africa's growing ecosystem. Today, we're a global publication with 100,000+ monthly readers! While the name Bendada served us well, we’ve spent most of this year pondering where we’re headed as a publication. It no longer reflected our growth and ambition. We wanted a one-word name embodying our mission: connecting innovators to the best ideas on technology. Condia = Convergence + Ideas. Simple, yet powerful! So what’s changing? Well, we have a new name, brand, website, and editorial focus. But our values remain: ✅ Accurate reporting ✅ Human-centered storytelling ✅ Giving value We’re doubling down on making our publication, a spot where the best ideas converge. Welcome to a new era. Welcome to Condia. Learn more about our rebrand story here: https://lnkd.in/g7ymyMJK

In Horizon Europe projects, understanding the difference between communication and dissemination is key to maximizing impact. While communication focuses on engaging the public and raising awareness through storytelling and accessible narratives, dissemination targets professionals, sharing detailed knowledge, data, and research findings to promote further innovation. Both are vital, but their audiences and purposes differ. Communication runs throughout the project, keeping the public informed, while dissemination often continues after the project ends, ensuring that knowledge is shared for future advancements. The visual below - by NETO Innovation - highlights these distinctions clearly. #HorizonEurope #Dissemination #Communication #NETOInnovation
