He can not belive that such a blockbuster film would use a font that he perceives as overused and unoriginal. This character represents someone who is perhaps overly focused on minor details and aesthetics, to the point of being overly critical or obsessive. On the other hand, the character played by Beck Bennett, who created the font, represents someone who is proud of his work and doesn't understand why it's being ridiculed. This character embodies the creative process and the pride that comes with creating something, even if it's not always appreciated by everyone. Both characters offer insights into different aspects of creativity and criticism. The shot combines real elements with carefully crafted CGI, creating a seamless composition that enhances the story without drawing attention to itself. The children’s perspective is central to this moment. For them, the Statue of Liberty is more than a landmark—it’s a symbol of hope, freedom, and a new beginning. The subdued composition mirrors their emotions: the awe of being in America, they made it, paired with the uncertainty of what lies ahead. An unexpected life choice. Creating this shot required precise work to balance realism and restraint. The digital Statue of Liberty had to integrate naturally into the scene, with its lighting, scale, and atmosphere blending perfectly into the muted tones of the docks. The Brooklyn Bridge stands far in the background—not just as an iconic symbol of New York, but as a profound representation of transition. By the time this sequence appears, the audience is well aware of the New York setting. Including the bridge wasn’t about establishing geography—it was about marking a pivotal moment. The bridge, towering in the frame, symbolizes crossing to “the other side.” This scene captures a thematic turning point in the film that I don’t want to spoil (the movie is still awaiting release in many countries!). Suffice it to say, it’s a moment of profound change for the story and the characters. I couldn’t help but pay homage to another cinematic master, Sergio Leone. His masterpiece Once Upon a Time in America forever etched the Brooklyn Bridge into our collective cinematic memory. Leone’s ability to use landscapes and architecture as emotional and narrative symbols inspired me deeply in designing this shot. Seamlessly blending practical and digital elements, we placed the bridge far in the background, ensuring it felt organic within the world while carrying the emotional weight of the sequence. In No Time to Die, color grading plays a pivotal role in making Craig's Bond unforgettable. Through the careful manipulation of tones, contrasts, and saturation, the film ensures that Bond always commands the screen. When he's in retirement, the warm, nostalgic hues wrap around him, conveying a sense of calm. But when he’s back in action, the color palette sharpens, moving to cooler, desaturated tones, hinting at the weight and gravity of his mission. What’s brilliant is how his skin tones are carefully maintained, despite the dramatic shifts in lighting and scenery. His presence is constantly defined by strong contrasts against cold blues, grays, and deep greens, Bond’s figure never fades. He remains visually striking, a true hero, larger than life, bathed in cinematic glory. The challenge went beyond simply removing what didn’t belong—it was about reimagining these spaces as they might have appeared in 1949.
