This is a pig treated with compassion. However, in factory farms, these social, sentient creatures are often confined to cramped, barren cages. We need to #EndtheCageAge

Bringing the lessons from farming to #peoplefarming I learned from my mentors that habits are similar to roots. Whether the habit is good or bad, it takes time to develop, just like roots. The deeper the root, the stronger the tree is, allowing it to withstand any storm. Consider this parable: A chimpanzee in the forest was very tired and, aggrieved, went around plucking plants with their roots and throwing them. Finally, it came to a huge tree. It tried as hard as it could to uproot the tree but eventually gave up and rested under it. So, if your habits are weak, trust me, someone will shake you. At people farmer community, we focus on cultivating and reinforcing positive habits, helping individuals reach their fullest potential. Visit us at https://lnkd.in/g6jP8AaF to learn more.

𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙗𝙨 𝟭𝟭:𝟮𝟰 𝙉𝙆𝙅𝙑 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚; 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩, 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙮. Looking at this ordinarily, it should be that as you scatter, whatever thing it is, in your hand should automatically reduce. But it's actually the other way round, considering the law of sowing. The more you scatter the seeds in your hands, the more your harvest will be. Believe me, the harvest may take longer than you expected but it will surely come. Infact, some of your seeds may fall on the rock, or the wayside or even among thorns but there will definitely be seeds that will fall on the good soil. Do not underestimate the power of giving and sowing seeds. Give a smile.... Give a hug..... A call, a text, a post of honour, resources and more. You will reap it! The other day, I was very concerned about the potential pest infestations on the vegetable crops. I was determined to find effective control measures to ensure efficient plant growth and optimize production. This morning, I was really shocked and frustrated by a devastating pest attack during the night. Human pest intrusion is unacceptable and unavoidable. The vegetables (cabbages and broccoli) are not yet ready, yet human pests invaded and took the first harvest. Imagine, the broccoli had not even started to flower and the cabbages had not yet developed heads. This kind of action greatly hinders progress. It gives me the impression that our society is mentally unwell and people are no longer responsible for their actions. A society that lacks ethical responsibility is a society destined for failure. It produces individuals with underdeveloped mentalities, poor cognitive development, misconduct, and presents numerous social problems in the community. It requires everyone to work together to ensure safe and healthy communities, to cultivate a responsible society. It is crucial for parents, elders, church leaders, community leaders, and everyone in a position of leadership to take the initiative to address these problems. #pests #human #vegetables #cabbages #broccoli #schoolfarm

Check out this article I wrote for Citiznz Are you a rural resident? Looking for opportunities to build community or a more intentional way of living? These places might be the answer. #rural #America #worklifebalance
“Rural America is dying out, with 81% of rural counties recording more deaths than births between 2019 and 2023. What are your thoughts on this, and how do you think it will impact America politically in the future?” It’s a story as old as farming itself: The child of a farm owner grows up working on the farm, gets educated then goes off to seek their fortune in “the big city” or somewhere, anywhere else. What can be done to repopulate our farmlands? Check out this article by Cole Smith https://lnkd.in/etu6j8TU

Lasioglossum spp., with few exceptions, are generalists. Typically these bees emerge in the first warm days of spring, just before blossoms flush in abundance. Among solitary and semi-social genera, males are commonly the first to appear. Seemingly caught unawares by the erratic spring weather, this individual lay apparently dormant. See, bees of most varieties are active and comfortable foraging between 17-40C. Above this and many become overheated, impatient and irritable out of doors. Under 15C and you’re likely dealing with a seasonal specialist (which Lasioglossum arguably are not) or an unlucky survivalist. Below 5C and the bee is or will likely fall victim to its environment, after first entering into a sluggish, torpor-like state. Frequently seeking shelter and warmth near a pollen or nectaring source you may find them, in spring and fall, when the weather is less predictable and resources more scarce. Such is the story of this bee, stranded amid the bouts of intermittent snow squalling and mountain sunshine today. A few hours of timely warmth and provisions may have resulted in revival on a more forgiving day, but not likely for this one at 1C. Only the desperate fly under a foreboding sky.
