Ken serves as President of the SDIHA. He is a Co-Founder of Complete Hemp Processing in Winfred, South Dakota. The Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC) at Murdoch University is proud to be part of this exciting project with Future Food Systems . Led by Dr. Ruey-Leng Loo, Associate Professor in Molecular Nutrition and WA Early to Mid-Career Fellow at the #ANPC, this study delves into the noteworthy potential of inulin—a soluble fiber found in a variety of plants, including globe artichokes. Our research aims to enhance our understanding of inulin’s potential human health benefits. We have developed a novel method for measuring inulin molecules in plants and discovered significant variations in the sizes and amounts. We are working on evaluating the importance of these differences on human health. Improving gut health. Dr Mark P McHenry and his partner, Dr Julia Anwar McHenry grow specialty globe artichokes on Mt Lindesay Farm, near Denmark, WA. As partners in a four-year, #FFSCRC-backed project, they work with researchers at Murdoch University including Australian National Phenome Centre scientist Dr Ruey-Leng Loo and PhD student Andrew Tilley to quantify beneficial properties in globe artichokes, notably long-chain inulin – resistant fibre that promotes beneficial gut microbes.
