Upgrading to Windows 11 offers several key benefits: 👍 Enhanced Security: Windows 11 provides improved resistance to malware and other potential threats, ensuring your systems remain secure. 👍 Compliance: Staying compliant with industry regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS is easier with Windows 11, as it includes the latest security features and updates. 👍 Better Performance: Windows 11 offers a more consistent and appealing interface, improved apps, and built-in generative AI with Copilot, enhancing overall user experience and productivity. Risks of Not Upgrading 👎 Failing to upgrade to Windows 11 can lead to several issues: 👎 System Vulnerability: Without security updates, any vulnerabilities discovered after the end of life for Windows 10 will remain unresolved, leaving your system exposed to digital threats. 👎 Operational Disruptions: Compatibility issues with software and hardware can lead to inefficiencies and disruptions in your operations. 👎 Compliance Failure: Non-compliance with industry standards can result in significant fines and reputational damage. How to Prepare To ensure a smooth transition to Windows 11, follow these steps: ✅ Install Updates: Make sure your system is up to date with the latest updates. ✅ Back Up Your Files: Regularly back up your data to protect it during the transition. ✅ Evaluate Compatibility: Check if your current software and hardware are compatible with Windows 11. 🚨 Important PSA for Windows 10 Users 🚨 Wavestone's Future of Work conducts a technological watch over best-in-class operating systems' release. Check-out this important news about Windows 10 👇: As of October 14, 2025, Windows 10 will officially enter its end-of-support phase, marking the conclusion of Microsoft’s free support and updates for this operating system. This announcement is a critical reminder for businesses and users still running Windows 10 on their devices. 💻⚠️ 🔹 Why does this matter? Microsoft’s end-of-support milestone means no more updates, security patches, or tech support for Windows 10. In other words, devices still running on this OS may become increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats as they no longer receive regular security enhancements. 🔒⚠️ 📌 For companies relying on Windows 10, here’s what you should consider: 1️⃣ Transition to Windows 11 🆕: With Windows 11 now the focus, migrating sooner rather than later will ensure continuity in receiving security updates and access to new features. 2️⃣ Security Risks 🔐: Running unsupported software can expose systems to malware and other vulnerabilities, impacting your organization’s data protection policies. 3️⃣ Operational Impact 📈: If your organization depends on Windows 10 for daily tasks, take time to assess how end-of-support might impact productivity and plan an efficient transition. 🔍 It’s worth noting that while Windows 10 will still function after the support deadline, moving to Windows 11 provides a future-ready experience with enhanced security and productivity features designed for modern workflows. 🚀📲 Microsoft’s decision to phase out Windows 10 highlights the importance of staying current with technology, especially as remote and hybrid work continue to shape the modern workplace. Proactive planning now can mitigate potential disruptions and maximize the benefits of the latest operating system innovations. Microsoft has officially launched its Extended Security Update (ESU) program, a lifeline for businesses and individuals who can't immediately upgrade to Windows 11. This annual subscription ensures continued security updates for Windows 10 devices beyond the October 2025 end-of-support date. While primarily targeted at organizations with large-scale deployments, ESU is also available to individual consumers. This offers a valuable option for those who may face hardware or software compatibility issues with Windows 11. Key points: 🔸ESU provides essential security updates for Windows 10. 🔸It's available to both businesses and individual consumers. 🔸Pricing and specific details for individual users are still to be announced. 🔸Businesses can opt for a 5-by-5 activation method. #Microsoft #TechGiants #OperatingSystems #Windows10 #ESU #Cybersecurity #IT #TechNews

🖥️“Why upgrade, it still works?” Alas, these words should not be used when referring to Windows 95, OR, even Windows 7. Why you ask? Whilst these were great operating system, even if they took forever to install, they ARE outdated and unsupported to newer features. Alas, upgrading to the current version Windows 11 (as Windows 10 will not be supported after October 2025) is no longer just an option, it is a necessity. . ⚠️Here are some reasons, firstly, security risks. Windows 95 was EOL (End of Life) in 2001, and now Windows 7 no longer receives security updates, leaving your system vulnerable to threats. Since the start of 2023, 47 vulnerabilities (published) have been discovered in Windows 7. #Cybercriminals ARE actively target outdated operating systems as they are unpatched and have publicly available vulnerabilities. Without official support, Microsoft is no longer compelled to disclose formal vulnerabilities, making it harder for users to stay informed about potential security risks. . ➡️Modern application support, whilst this one can seem negligible, being able to run modern applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and even Google Chrome and their G-Suite tools on Windows 7 is not a supported option. If these tools break, there’s no means to getting them repaired from the vendors perspective. . 🚨Finally, #Windows95 was released in *cough*, August 1995 and Windows 7 was released October 2009. This would make the hardware running these devices either 20+ or even 15+ years old. The failure rate on hardware starts double in risk after 7 years, and is at over 90% by the 12th year. If the system being used to run this operating system isn’t backed up, there is a very high change the data will be lost in a hardware failure event. . ➡️With the end of year right around the corner, vendors are offering great discounts (upto 60% off retail pricing) to help those still running on legacy Windows operating systems to upgrade. Want to take advantage of these discounts? Then why not reach out to the amazing team at ASE - Data Management and Connectivity Specialists and grab your business upgrade before the end of year is here. #shifthappens #thinkbeforeyouclick #windowsupgrade #cybersecurity

🚀Did you know? With #Intune you can manage you Clients and Servers as well! 💡 Did you know that with #MicrosoftIntune and #MicrosoftDefender for Endpoint, you can manage servers without enrolling them in Intune? That’s right—whether it’s a Windows Server, Linux Server, Windows 10, or even MacOS, you only need to onboard the device to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (#MDE) to start managing security settings. But here’s where it gets interesting: 🚨 According to Microsoft's documentation, Domain Controllers are still not supported, meaning you must stick to deploying server hardening policies via GPO for these high-value assets. 💡 However, Defender XDR settings do allow Domain Controllers as a separate option—though good luck finding an official article on that! 👀 🚨 Why is this crucial? 🚨 🤔 Because Domain Controllers are incredibly sensitive, and any misconfiguration could have disastrous consequences for both security and productivity. 💡 Pro Tip: Use Dynamic Security Groups to apply policies to devices managed through MDE—this ensures that your infrastructure is covered without the need for full enrollment. 🚨 For those who are serious about securing their on-premises infrastructure, protect your assets, protect your business! 🚨 🔗 Official Microsoft Learn Link about this topic: https://lnkd.in/d6ZyX62S Great article about this topic from Jovan Savage: https://lnkd.in/dPYiGm8g This article by Atıl Gürcan is also very good: https://lnkd.in/dHe5rYft #MicrosoftDefender #EndpointSecurity #Intune #ServerManagement #Cybersecurity #XDR #OnPremisesSecurity #ITAdmins #DefenderForEndpoint #MDE #ITSecurity #Microsoft365 #HybridCloud
