Compumedics is pleased to share a recent peer-reviewed publication highlighting our Somfit home sleep testing device in comparison to traditional Polysomnography. This was published in Sleep and Biological Rhythms, a quarterly peer-reviewed publication that deals with treatments related to sleep and covers the mechanisms of sleep. Highlights from the Discussion: "Somfit is recommended as a useful tool for making OSA diagnostic testing more accessible to everyone. As it is worn on the forehead, it enables a true measurement of sleep stages, TST and arousal due to its ability to record frontal neurological signals. Other advantages include being small, lightweight, HSAT device that does not require a dedicated finger probe or a wrist-worn unit. Unlike other HSAT devices that might fail due to reliance on finger oximetry, Somfit could provide an opportunity for patients suffering from chronic poor per fusion in their hands and feet, such as those with peripheral vascular disease, to undergo testing for sleep apnoea."
