Came across this post this morning for a concept events platform (and future B-Corp) built from the ground-up with accessibility in mind. Although Eventably is a for-profit, there's a lot of similarities to Equal Access Public Media: • This is not about accessibility; it's built to be accessible. • Eventably needs funding now because it's in concept/development stage, and until it gets money, it can't go further. (Yes, both nonprofits and for-profits need money to do The Thing.) • Accessibility is good for everyone. Accessibility is about people. Accessibility is universal. Accessibility is infinite. It means that companies and organizations built to be accessible don't stop innovating and don't stop striving to be better for the people they serve. That's my two cents. It's what I can donate right now to Eventably, since I have fairly empty pockets while trying to build EAPM. Now go forth and donate to companies and organizations building accessible things. Accessibility for the win.

The anniversary of my 5th year at MOVUS passed by exactly one month ago. Nobody noticed—myself included. I was a bit distracted that day, breaking my wife out of an Italian hospital (a story for another time). But anniversaries are a time for reflection, especially after being in one place for a while. When I think about my time at MOVUS, one word comes to mind: change. And the resistance to it. MOVUS hasn’t been easy—then again, building any impactful business never is. Creating something built to last takes constant evolution. The speed and scope of change needed to overcome challenges can be overwhelming, especially when you’re a business driving change in an industry often resistant to it. It can feel like punching through big surf—getting slammed by wave after wave of obstacles. You get pulled under, pushed back, exhausted to the brink of giving up. But if you keep going, you just might break through and catch the ride of your life. In condition monitoring, we all share a vision: one day, every machine will be monitored. It's the only way to make industry more reliable, efficient, and sustainable. But between now and then lies a tidal wave of change. The good news? The longer I’m in this industry, the more people I meet who are becoming part of the change, not the resistance. And we can see the impact we’re having. We can quantify it. Hell, we’ve even helped save a few turtles along the way. After five years, I’ve realised this: the moment I stop learning from my environment, it’s time to move on. That’s why I’m still at MOVUS. The challenges are real, but so is the learning—and that makes the ride worth it.
