So a decade of the Bauer Academy is obviously a BIG deal to me. It’s a milestone worthy of celebration and reflection. Building the Bauer Academy has been a learning experience like no other. I’ll write a book one day, but until then here are some themes: 1. The ‘hunch’ that launched the Bauer Academy was right, employers need to redefine their relationship with education if they want the talent they’ll need in the future. 2. When it comes to designing and delivering impactful learning there are only hard yards (no short cuts) and communities matter most. 3. When a team is aligned on a mission limits fade away and colleagues become the most incredible friends. 4. Empower the right people then get out the way, and remember mistakes are part of the process. 5. Every day, learn from those around you, especially those in the most junior roles and those saying what you don’t want to hear. 6. Bring purpose to people’s roles, positivity to meetings, and when you say thank you mean it. 7. Innovation in large companies is hard, harder than it should be, but most pain barriers are worth it. Thanks to everyone that’s played any part, big or small, in getting the Bauer Academy to this stage. What a journey and we are still in the foothills of what we will achieve… Let’s go. 🦏 💥 🤸
Bauer Academy is 10 today! 🎊 🎉 What an amazing 10 years we’ve had! We've delivered work-based learning including apprenticeships, L&D and community projects to over 25,000 people across the 10 years, helping these people launch and progress in their careers. To top it all off this year being named as the Creative and Design Apprenticeship Provider of the Year, being Highly Commended for Provider of the year and raising our quality achievement rate (QAR) to an outstanding 71.2%, which is 16.6% above the national average! We are still growing, working with over 60 clients, including Bauer Media, offering apprenticeships, formal work-based qualifications, tailored L&D, day courses, short courses and more!
