We've launched the website Točno tako (Exactly!), a central collaborative platform where verified information is published. The accuracy of the information is checked by 21 independent, specialized fact-checking organizations, led by universities, faculties, institutes, and civil society organizations. They verify information across a wide range of thematic areas. The project is funded through the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility and was initiated by the Agency for Electronic Media and the Ministry of Culture and Media as a pilot project within the EU. With technology constantly evolving, no one can fight the battle against disinformation alone—neither individuals, organizations, nor institutions. Yesterday - together with Pawel Kossecki - we had the pleasure of presenting our paper entitled ‘ Application of Business Intelligence Tools for the Purposes of Comparability Analysis in Transfer Pricing’ at the IEEE 17th International Scientific Conference on Informatics in Poprad, Slovakia. It was a great opportunity to exchange know-how and experiences with participants from different countries. Frank, the hybrid decision-making system I envisioned with Riccardo Guidotti and Alessio Malizia, finally made its public debut at the IDA2024 conference! Developed as part of the EU TANGO Project, Frank is an assistant capable of gradually learning from human users to help them stay consistent and unbiased in their decisions by providing suggestions and explanations. Frank and the user's relationship is synergistic. Frank's objective is not to supplant users but to support them. In turn, the users make Frank more and more knowledgeable. They evolve together. 📡 In our latest paper, Jan Krewer and Zuzanna Warso review the existing literature and current global debates on public digital infrastructures. Through five case studies on Decidim, Zentrum Digitale Souveränität (ZenDiS), DHIS2, scikit-learn and EOSC Association, the paper highlights approaches to address infrastructure gaps and deepens the understanding of how Digital Commons can sustain and enhance various forms of public digital infrastructures. Thanks to Nil Homedes Busquets, Nicholas Gates, Lea Gimpel, Cailean Osborne, and Roksana Wilk for their insights.
