🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month! 🌟 Women's History Month is a powerful reminder of the incredible strength, resilience, and brilliance that women have always embodied. Reflecting on history, I can't help but wonder how different our present would be if societal restrictions on women hadn't existed. Recently, I delved into the captivating world of a historical fiction and discovered the remarkable story of Hedy Lamarr. The read led me to further research on this remarkable woman. Before fleeing to the United States, she was married to Austrian leader and businessman Friedrich Mandl. Despite the limitations imposed on her, Hedy utilized her firsthand knowledge gained from conversations her husband had with Axis leaders to pioneer numerous groundbreaking inventions. Tragically, due to her gender, her contributions were overlooked by the US at the time. Yet, it was Hedy's innovative spirit and relentless pursuit of progress that laid the foundation for technologies we now take for granted, such as the spread spectrum technology that was foundational for Wi-Fi and cell phone communications. As we celebrate the achievements of women past and present, let's also acknowledge our responsibility to further the advancement of women today. Let's uplift, support, and empower each other, recognizing that the future is brighter when we stand together. #WomensHistoryMonth #Empowerment #Innovation #Progress

Connect, learn, and grow! Those are just a few of the benefits of attending a women's conference. We recently had the opportunity to hold our second Engage conference here in Richmond. I know the connections I made, the knowledge I gained, and the growth from spending time with our amazing guests will stay with me forever. For more insights on the importance of attending women's events, take a minute to read the article that Cheron Smalls and I recently co-authored: https://lnkd.in/edNm7Ea8

🌸💪Celebrating International Women’s Day (and History Month) by Embracing our Inherent Worth💪🌸 As we honor Women's History Month, let's celebrate not just the achievements of remarkable women and trailblazers throughout history, but also the profound impact women continue to have as leaders and powerful change-makers. The American Psychological Association rightly states, "When more women are empowered to lead, everyone benefits." Decades of research affirm this truth: women leaders enhance productivity, foster collaboration, inspire dedication, and promote fairness in organizations and beyond. Yet, despite these undeniable benefits, the reality remains stark—only 10% of Fortune 500 companies are led by women. It's a sobering reminder of the work still to be done in breaking down barriers and shattering glass ceilings. But amidst this journey of progress and change, one thing remains constant: the importance of self-care. As women, we often lead with empathy, compassion, and resilience—qualities that empower us to navigate challenges and uplift those around us. But it's essential to remember that self-care isn't selfish; it's a vital aspect of our ability to lead effectively and sustainably and "an affirmation of your inherent worth." - Jane Morales In a world that often demands our constant hustle and sacrifice, prioritizing self-care isn't just an act of self-love; it's an act of rebellion—a declaration that our well-being matters, and our voices deserve to be heard. So this Women's History Month, let's honor the legacy of those who came before us by embracing our power, leading with empathy, and nurturing ourselves along the way. Let's celebrate the women who inspire us, support us, and remind us of our inherent worth. Here's to the trailblazers, the visionaries, and the leaders of tomorrow—may we continue to rise, empower, and lift each other up. Happy Women's History Month! 🌟👩💼🌸 #️⃣ Tag or share this with the women you're celebrating today (and every day)!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Women in Business event from Business Canterbury last night! 🌟 300 people in the room to hear from 4 amazing women on stage! Key reflections for me were: 🔸️ Each panellist worked in different spaces but they each bought their whole selves to the stage. Not just their "work self". It is refreshing and encouraging to see as I have struggled to separate the "mum" part of my identity from my work spaces. 🔸️ Take. Your. Seat. We women deserve to be at those tables so we should stop letting our humility and politeness get in the way. That was from Nicola Willis - regardless of her political colours, I saw a different side to her that I now massively respect and appreciate a whole lot more. 🔸️ If you're in a male dominated space, make sure the first thing you say is not what they expect! I loved this idea to break stereotypes and expectations early! 🔸️ Learn to say no... especially if something is jarring with your values. As appealing or enticing as it could be, trust your gut. 🔸️ Hearing the Two Raw Sisters talk about their "Project x" days - making regular time to work on their business, not in their business. This was great advice for slowing down to speed up and I think it's applicable to those owning, managing or leading in business! #womeninbusiness #femaleleaders #takeyourseat

Being healthy is mandatory. We often look at healthy as taking care of ourselves, which is 100% a must. Healthy also means showing up in spaces and for people to help prescribe the necessary engagement that will help edify them. Adding value is a part of your healthy. That value may produce the treatment you’ll need later down the road to help maintain your healthy. Show up! #weshowup
