International development and international health go hand in hand. In order for international development programs and initiatives to be effective, international health programs are a pre-requisite. On May 02, the International Development Innovation Alliance and the World Health Organization (WHO) announced the renewal of their collaboration on the scale-up of health innovations. “This partnership demonstrates a convergence of diverse expertise, pooling resources to bolster governmental efforts to scale-up innovative solutions, leveraging each other's strengths. As a Member State organization, WHO can help governments identify public health demand in countries, while IDIA’s unique network of innovation funders supplies a pipeline of demonstrated, impactful innovations,” says Jeremy Farrar, Chief Scientist at WHO. WHO launches new network for advancing data and digital solutions for health WHO/Europe has launched the Strategic Partners' Initiative for Data and Digital Health, a collaboration network that brings together the 53 Member States of the WHO European Region and leading partners in the fields of data and digital health. The work of the SPI-DDH will be driven by Member States' priorities and informed by the latest scientific research and evidence-based practices, aligning with WHO's Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025 and the Regional Digital Health Action Plan for the WHO European Region 2023-2030. https://lnkd.in/eyFHZXKb #PublicHealth #Europe #StayInformed #StayEmpowered

So we have an event hosted by the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT supported by TechUK Health and Social Care on 20th May in London on the EU XpanDH which is building capacity to ensure the widespread adoption of the European Electronic Health Records Exchange Format (EEHRxF) across Europe and you may well think, why is this important and why should I attend? Well, we don't have a monopoly of wisdom in cross-border sharing as we can't do it across our 4 nations. Should we also include the Republic of Ireland bearing in mind the movement of people between us both? Perhaps we can learn something for improving this? XPanDH has a key role on raising awareness about the format and adoption, and demonstrate its feasibility in different use cases and this is not just a technical role - after all the problems being faced are far more social than technical This will be a great event to learn about the initiative and how, along with the xShare initiative, it is envisaged that ‘everyone can share their health data in the European EHRxF with a click-of-a-button’. This is worth the ticket to learn and gain a wider perspective on health data sharing. There's also a light lunch 😀 Tickets are available here with a more detailed description of the event. https://lnkd.in/exRF5t2H
