💡✨Takeaway of the week.. Lately I’ve been digging into the Acquired archives and always thought American Dynamism was primarily about DefenseTech. Thanks to a16z’s Katherine Boyle I learned it also includes innovations in education, affordable housing, healthcare, infrastructure, sustainability, workforce development, community support, entrepreneurship, and public safety, all to help drive national growth. #GovTech #creators #smallTech #AmericanDynamism https://lnkd.in/gPhaKMg9

Don’t do the right thing for too long. I shared this, among many other pieces of leadership advice, with Danny Fortson on the “Danny in the Valley” podcast. We also delved into two of my favorite topics – AI and #startups, examined lessons learned during my career journey, and shared thoughts on what’s next for the tech industry. Tune in and let me know if you found my insights valuable.

Been in active denial about the end of CBC’s Spark since hearing Nora Young drop the news at the end of an episode. In fact, my brain has been blocking so much information about this announcement that I thought the final episode would come next week. https://lnkd.in/eSSZK7Fk Was first tuned to it by #SXSWi participants at #BarCampAustinIII, when I revealed my Canadian identity. Had heard about the show yet started listening to it based on those comments. Had some qualms, early on. And some parts occasionally felt off. Yet it’s been such a mainstay in my podcast listening habits that I took it for granted. In a way, it’s probably the podcast from a major outlet that I’ve kept for the longest time. (My longest run with a podcast is with the first podcast. Christopher Lydon’s RadioOpenSource which is still operating since the first implementation of enclosures in RSS feeds.) There are podcasts that I still miss, many years after they disappeared. I still have a Dailysonic-shaped hole in my podcast listening heart with Anni Katz’s voice resonating in my head. Or Julien Smith’s In Over Your Head. Or even Invisibilia, though I only listened to a few seasons. And Bob (Robert) Goyetche’s impact in the podcasting field has been recognized several times, since his untimely passing. Speaking of tragic departures, CBC has also been the resting place for several shows which could have sustained much longer runs. The phrase “Zed’s dead” has a special meaning to me because of CBC’s ZeD. And I remain sore about the abrupt end of Baroness von Sketch Show. It’d be exactly the show we need right now. So I fully realize that I’ll miss Spark more than I miss many things in life. Young did such a skillful job that it feels like no other show will ever be quite like it. (Of course, the whole team played a huge part in that. Simply, there’s something about that role Young played for so long which sets things apart.) So maybe it’s about the transition in life when we integrate back catalogues into new things. Spark was both “of the moment” and “in its own timeframe”. Full episodes have become dated rather quickly. Many individual segments remain relevant in the long run. If only the broadcasting corporation could find a way to at least properly treat these 17 years of high quality content so that curators, technologists, students, investors, librarians, policymakers, scholars, and citizens could easily and properly refer to those for decades to come… Sometimes, we know what we’ve got before it’s gone.

Do you believe God can change your desires?? This is how I went from being a poet, artist and creative - who did not care about technology, business or even making money…to who I am today. God really can transform who you are and how you think! And changing how you think is the first step to creating new opportunities. 🤔 It’s about reshaping your mindset around business, tech, and life. Once you shift your perspective, new paths open up, and success becomes a long-term strategy, not just a quick win. 😉 Curious about how a mindset shift can help you grow?
