Award of Excellence. Inherent commercial promised land as proving ground. Exhibit space at Connor Prairie. The Promised Land as Proving Ground Exhibit is a new standalone exhibit space as part of Connor Prairie. Located in Fishers IN Conner. Prairie is a unique outdoor museum that includes interactive historical exhibits where guests of all ages can interact and learn about daily life in different times throughout history. The Promised Land is Proving Ground exhibit space was created to tell the story of the impact of the African American community on Indiana. As a Free State, Indiana was representative of a promised land for African American families, one where they had opportunities for independence and freedom. It also became a proving ground for this freedom, a place to develop African American faith and to challenge the American democracy. The exhibit space will house audio, visual components, experiential, hands-on and augmented reality to provide a fully immersive experience for guests of all ages.
