Sometimes, the biggest transformations come from solving the simplest problems. As Daniel Mather MSN, RN from Salina Regional Health Center explained, integrating bed exit systems with nurse call technology wasn’t just a technical achievement, it was a leap forward in how we care for patients.
Before this, alarms meant nurses scrambling down hallways, wasting precious moments. Now, with clear alerts that show exactly where help is needed, nurses respond faster, smarter, and with confidence.
It’s not just about technology, it’s about rethinking the system to serve people better. A small shift that creates a huge impact.

I'm well, like most things with Kinect solids every day we're continually using Kinect Sol to implement and improve things. But I think one of the biggest ones is probably what I'm here to talk about is our integration from our bed exit system into our nurse call system that we utilize, which was just really a transformative approach for our system. And I think it was the the first one in the nation that was able to build, you know, an engineer and architect a system to go from a. Striker bed, you know, through connects all into a rolling nurse call system that really for the first time, you know, performing a nurse call or beg someone would go off. You just see nurses in the hallway trying to find where the room was. And so really getting that bed exit alarm tied in with a chair exit alarm later on and incorporating that into audible chime and also visual alarm that the nurses can easily see and identify and then also. Having it at the nurses station so the nurses can say, hey, it's this room is where the patients. We didn't have that before and a simplistic as it seems that was just a huge driving force for patient safety.

You can be efficient with things, but not with people.
This simple truth cuts to the heart of what's wrong with today's healthcare system. When we treat patient care like an assembly line, we miss the human element that makes medicine work.
At Synergy Healthcare, our nurses spend time with patients because health improves through relationships, not rushed visits and checkboxes.
The numbers back this up: 33% of patients avoid seeing doctors due to rushed, inattentive care.
And with almost 60% of working adults managing multiple chronic conditions, we can't afford to prioritize speed over understanding.

In one of the most heavily regulated industries, it’s ironic that we still lack systems to support critical, real-time decisions—especially in nurse staffing, where alignment with patient care needs is essential. Too often, we ask our Charge Nurses to shoulder this responsibility without the technology or evidence-based support they deserve. This approach not only strains our nursing leaders but also risks the quality of patient care on their units.
At Parity, we’ve developed a solution to bridge this gap: a real-time decision support tool designed to empower Charge Nurses and ensure staffing aligns seamlessly with patient needs. And, for a limited time, we’re offering new customers a FREE 3-MONTH TRIAL.
Don’t let outdated practices hold back your team!
