Fascinating interview of Daniel Kahneman, the late behavioural scientist and Nobel-Prize winning psychologist. Advances in decision-making theory have demonstrated that human decisions are often influenced by cognitive biases and heuristics, leading to systematic deviations from what would be considered rational choices. People are noisy (noise refers to the unwanted variability in decisions under similar circumstances) and noise is as bad as bias. What will happen when AI's decisions are proven superior to those of CEOs, doctors, and judges? #decisionmaking #ai #leadership

Which 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 will be magnified as 𝗔𝗜 advances and trust erodes as a result? ⭐ This great question was posed to me by Richard Wilson during his Centimillionaire Strategies podcast for the Family Office Club. https://lnkd.in/gXhjzDmc 👈 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Must Match 🏆 It never stops to amaze me how on the one hand the principles are so easy to understand, yet the application of those principles is where the true skill, insight and confidence is needed. 🤔 In this interview listeners are presented with yet more and valuable insights by Dr Cialdini when it comes to application. - What principles to use when approaching successful business people. - How we should respond and get ready to the eroding trust in communication by use of AI generated content. 😯 - What was the smartest question ever asked of Dr Cialdini and much more. Clearly some formal training like the course mentioned (which is available through our website https://lnkd.in/gu9jYW6Q inclusive of gst for Australian businesses) helps to build the application creativity. EXAMPLE If you’d like to see what a simple a humanised welcome message on a site can look like, check out our site’s index page. When online learning of persuasion is combined with weekly engagement with the material with a peer, this helps build application skill and more importantly application confidence. (You get that when the Ethical Influence Practitioner Certification course is combined with 8 weeks of weekly coaching calls. Also available in our shop) Thank you Richard Wilson and of course Dr. Robert Cialdini for more Cialdini ‘Gold’ content that all my persuasion students will need to watch 🙏👍 #cialdini #persuasion #businessskills #persuasionskills #salestraining #influence #australianbusiness #newzealandbusiness #asiabusiness

The latest episode in my podcast series about #PsychologicalFlexibility is live. This time, Ross McIntosh and I take a look at the skill of 'Cognitive Defusion'. This is all about learning how to see are thoughts for what they are, not what they say they are. Practicing defusion means we can let troublesome thoughts move on, without trying to remove, suppress or change them. 👉🏻 You can find Ep 158 of 'My Pocket Psych' wherever you get your podcasts, or watch the episode below. https://lnkd.in/eGE2fhXM

I hardly ever consume podcasts but am usually inspired by a really compelling recommendation which I received this morning from Digby Scott. He highlighted a recent speech (available as a podcast on most platforms) by Reid Hoffman on Humanity’s Hegelian Golden Braid which for me, is on a scale similar to Martin Luther King's 'I Have A Dream' speech, or Nelson Mandela's Long Walk to Freedom. It is at once a summary of the hopes and dreams attached to humanity's integration and leadership of AI AND a beautiful example of how to build an emotionally compelling and inspirational speech. Here are a few highlights that do not do it justice: 1) I shall find a way, or make one (Hannibal) 2) We are symbols and inhabit symbols (Perusian Griffin) 3) Cathedral projects bring an ennoblement to our efforts and turn us into a fellowship 4) We must take small risks to navigate big risks 5) We are homotechnae; technology is what makes us human 6) We have an obligation to make the future better than the now Dystopia is not the destination; neither is Utopia - find a BETTER place! Instead of worrying about what could possibly go wrong, imagine what could go right! Let AI help shape us - humans WITH AI, not instead of. https://lnkd.in/gPsPsi7n
