A day to remember for the France-Ireland relationship! Paris was full of Irish last Thursday, and for once they were not heading to the Stade de France; ▶ To the first bilateral consultations between Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and Direction Générale des Entreprises, through DGE Thomas Courbe and SG Declan Hughes): implementation of Draghi report, industrial policy, digital regulation – lots of items on the agenda! ▶To the headquarters of Business France, for the first ever France-Ireland Economic Forum: 150 policymakers, public agencies, opinion leaders and businesses enriched the discussion of senior figures (Barbara Pompili, Matthieu Landon, Declan Hughes, Oonagh Buckley, Géraldine Leveau, Niamh O’Donnelly, Olivier Halimi, Barbara O’Beirne, Conor O’Riain Eva Vandest) moderated by Sarah Collins, and with a special message from Minister Paschal Donohoe. Main points of conversation, as summed up by Ambassador Céline Place ? Competitiveness, innovation, ecological transition in the context of a new Commission, in a fragmented international landscape and with the Irish presidency of the EU in sight. ▶ To the Yachts de Paris for the annual Business Awards reception, jointly organized by NetworkIrlande, La Chambre de Commerce et de l'Industrie Franco-Irlandaise and France Ireland Chamber of Commerce. On the same boat that carried the French Olympics team on their way to success last summer, we celebrated the success stories of the three incredible laureates AXA Ireland, Smurfit Westrock France and Access Earth – to name but a few of the 300 sharing the ambition of an ever-growing Franco-Irish business scene, including French senator Hélène CONWAY-MOURET and MPs Vincent Caure, Graziella Melchior and Anna Pic. Congratulations to all involved in making this day so special, with special thanks to the Embassy of Ireland France - Ambassade d'Irlande en France (Owen Feeney, Louisa Heneghan, Eimear Ryan-Charleton, Sophie Carey). The Embassy of France in Ireland is looking forward to returning the favor for the next edition of the Economic Forum and Business Awards next year in Dublin!
