🤝 Dear friends, after years of waiting for sponsorship, and presentations of this event in Salvador - Bahia - Brazil, I am here to communicate our progress. We have a project ready here, without money. I chose the large events sector in a toxic environment as a small businessman and in a political and economic situation that doesn't fit me in a place that is suitable for the event I created. The current Brazil has been considered a defeated trajectory from 2010 until now, promising a strengthening of the State's action in the cultural area. In addition, and despite a reconstructive proposal, which I must consider weak and corrupt, given the result of my work in the creation of the event. I don't maintain such models out of habit. How was the appraisal made for the last five years during the event's creation in Salvador? First, I emphasize that the "global south" is full of small and large dictatorships. Considering the aphorism of environmental stewardship, global citizens recognize their interconnectedness with the planet, fostering sustainable practices. This is not true! And it won't be anytime soon! The situation affects me, and not only in terms of the environmental crisis, which is one of the issues that the Conference on Indigenous and Quilombola Crafts will shed light on. Secondly, the prevailing policy of the current Brazilian government avoids and silences advantages in some profiles, which has not been fulfilled. Bywords that threatened the total value of the sponsorship requested all these years. We all know we are moving towards peaceful coexistence and cultural sensitivity, rejecting discrimination and striving for a world where everyone is treated with dignity. At the same time, I understand that Art encourages artists to win through the war caused by the failure to comply with peace. Unfortunately, Brazil today can only meet with me a measly 10% of what was proposed in our budget and, in addition, places me in an environment in which I have no place, nor memory. #eventos #cultura #entrevista #vídeo #trabalho #artesanato #craftbusiness #craftmarketing #indigenouspeople #quilombola #feiradeartesanatonorteenordeste #salvador #bahia #brazil

#12Octubre #España #Hispanidad #Spain #Celebration 10 things you probably didn't know about Spain. 🟥 🟨 🟥 1. our diversity makes us great, Spain is a country with different regions and different sensibilities, having these great political and legislative autonomy... countries within a country (the autonomous communities, that's how our neighbors, the Portuguese, see us). 2. Spanish our language is the 2nd most spoken language in the world. 3. A very supportive country in terms of economic donations, food... among the 10 most supportive countries in the world. 4. World leaders in transplants, our sample of collaboration and empathy in its purest form, just look at the figures. 5. A World Heritage country. 6. Tourism, Spain is the 2nd most visited country in the world, if so many people come here it is for a reason, isn't it? 7. We are the top 3 Unesco heritage country, one of the top 10 safest countries and with the most effective police force in Europe. 8. Our gastronomy, very varied and the best according to Bloomberg we are the healthiest country in terms of food. 9. In sports Rafa Nadal, Pau Gasol, Javier Gomez Noya and many others. 10. Spain has the largest number of protected natural areas in Europe. Every October 12, Spain celebrates the National Holiday commemorating the Discovery of America in 1492. October 12 symbolizes the historical event in which Spain, about to conclude a process of state building from our cultural and political plurality, and the integration of the kingdoms of Spain in the same monarchy, begins a period of linguistic and cultural projection beyond European borders. The feast of October 12 is celebrated in several places in South America and the United States, although it is not a national holiday in all countries. In addition, this day is called by different names: Día de la Hispanidad, Día de la Raza, Día de los Pueblos Indígenas, Día del Descubrimiento de los dos Mundos, Día de la Resistencia Indígena. Feliz día de la Hispanidad.

Celebrating April 25th: A Day of Freedom and Democracy in Portugal 🌺🇵🇹 Today, Portugal commemorates April 25th, a historic day that marks the Carnation Revolution, a pivotal moment that ended a dictatorship and ushered in a new era of freedom, democracy and progress. This day is a symbol of hope and a celebration of the Portuguese spirit of resilience and change. ✊ At Aristo Agency, based in the vibrant city of Porto, we resonate deeply with the values that April 25th symbolizes. The freedom to innovate, the courage to embrace change and the commitment to progress are all principles we hold dear. The success and growth of our agency is a testament to the opportunities and freedoms that this historic day has granted to generations of Portuguese businesses. Without the sacrifices made by those who fought for freedom on April 25th, Aristo Agency may not exist as it does today. The freedom to create, innovate and collaborate is the foundation upon which our agency was built. As we celebrate this important day, we reflect on the impact it has had on our journey and the countless opportunities it continues to provide. Here's to April 25th, a day that inspires us to dream big, work hard, and make a difference. 🌺🇵🇹 #25Abril #CarnationRevolution #Portugal #AristoAgency #Freedom #Innovation #DiaDaLiberdade

"I got to visit neighbourhoods outside of the central city district where the majority of the people of African descent live. I learnt about the history of these neighbourhoods, their ongoign transformation and how they speak to enduring shared history and heritage between African and Portugal. We went to see the ‘Monument to the African Worker’ that commemorates the contribution of African workers to rebuilding Portugal. This tour-interview conversation added another dimension to the fieldwork experience thus far. ... One of the things that stood out to me in relation to the tour-interview was the discussion around the “discoveries” which Djuzé prefers to call the “arrival”. What happens when we think of the period of Portuguese exploration as the “arrival”? I think it could potentially open up both conceptual and empirical thinking space in reimagining past, present and future entangled heritage. The arrival can then signal the beginning of the end – end of failing to account for the African presence, the end of continued imperialist attitudes and actions, the end of oppression of all forms, the end of war and aggression….and the beginning of love, oneness and a shared sense of our common entwined humanity and unfolding human history. I guess a man is allowed to dream and work towards hope…." https://lnkd.in/eRmbX2pi #fieldwork #lisbon #tourism #heritage #memory #embodiedabsence #venidiaries #PTfieldwork

I was delighted to receive a letter from Stefano DOMINIONI last week informing me of the decision of the Board of Directors of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe (EPA) to renew the European Cultural Route Certificate for the European Route of Historic Gardens . This is a great honour and distinction for me personally and for our organisation established in 2016. We are the only certified garden heritage cultural route in Europe. The cultural routes of the Council of Europe are not, as some people believe, 'tourist organisations'. Allthough for centuries, tourism or mobility in its broadest sense has been a powerful tool and key to explore our surrounding and, as a result, to understand it better. We are ambassadors of the universal values underlying European civilisation and culture having the unique privilege of bearing the official Council of Europe / European Institute of Cultural Routes, Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Programme label. The certification as a “Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” is a guarantee of excellence. Within the framework of the Cultural Route we implement innovative activities and projects pertaining to five main priority fields of action: 1) co-operation in research and development; 2) enhancement of memory, history and European heritage; 3) cultural and educational exchanges for young Europeans; 4) contemporary cultural and artistic practice; 5) cultural tourism and sustainable cultural development. If you manage an institution that cares for historical gardens and is also active in one of the above fields, you are more than welcome to join us as a full member or an independent collaborator; https://lnkd.in/d5P6cdYv Long live the Europe of united gardens! #erhg #europe #unity #gardens #excellence #councilofeurope #culture #heritage

A wee summary on the part related to The Hare and The Tortoise albergue (with English subtitles). However I recommend to watch the full documentary which in plus of being very informative, covers the different forms of religious tourism mainly in France, but also in USA, with on one side positive initiatives, from Lourdes to New York, and on the other side, the mass tourism and excessive prices of Mont-Saint-Michel.
