This innovative approach will redefine logistics by offering unparalleled efficiency and sustainability for heavy goods transport across Europe. Our Vision for Swappable eTrailers The development of swappable eTrailer batteries marks a new chapter in the future of logistics. By enabling quick battery swaps in just five minutes, we aim to eliminate traditional charging downtime, allowing our customers to maximize fleet utilization and significantly extend vehicle range. With this new capability, businesses will no longer have to wait hours to recharge—fleet uptime will be optimized, leading to higher operational productivity and lower emissions. The First Prototype Swapping Stations As part of this exciting project, we are also working on the construction of the first prototype battery-swapping stations in Europe. These stations will serve as a critical infrastructure element, supporting a fast, seamless transition from charged to depleted battery modules. Each station will be designed to deliver unparalleled speed and reliability, ensuring that fleet operators can minimize delays and keep their vehicles on the road. SUSTAINABILITY: DB Schenker deploys e-truck for emission-free long-distance deliveries As part of its E-Charge project, which aims to find a #zeroemission solution for long-haul delivery routes, DB Schenker has begun testing the R 450e electric truck from Scania Group in regular long-distance transportation. Anna Hagberg, the company’s head of network and scheduled services, said, “For DB Schenker, the purpose is to test and gain experience of fully electric heavy vehicles in long-distance regular traffic.
