South African commercial real estate owners are embracing proptech like never before, completely defying the inaccurate perception that it's lagging. Every day, our team witnesses the remarkable transformation brought about by technology in how property is managed, leased, and operated. The belief that South Africa lags in this space is entirely unfounded. In fact, it's the opposite. Rapidly advancing AI generative tools are quickly empowering property managers to optimise their operations, make data-driven decisions, and respond to market demands with unprecedented agility. It's exhilarating to be part of this revolution as the industry speedily pivots from traditional models to a tech-driven property future that enables greater transparency, efficiency, and growth. #PropTech #CommercialRealEstate #SouthAfricaProperty #TechInnovation #RealEstateTech #PropertyManagement #SmartBuildings #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfRealEstate #RealEstateInnovation 🟪MRI Software 🟪 Andrew Davies 🟪 Jodi Sher 🟪 Rael Levitt 🟪 Hein Pretorius 🟪 API Events

The percentages in this graph were calculated using a combination of industry research, trend analysis, and artificial intelligence by SciSpace, a specialized AI research assistant with expertise in analyzing industry trends and academic research. Insights were drawn from reputable sources such as Deloitte’s Real Estate Outlook, McKinsey’s Digital Real Estate Report, and CB Insights’ PropTech Investment Trends. These sources highlight the growing shift toward principal-to-principal transactions in commercial real estate (CRE), as investment firms increasingly leverage technology and in-house expertise to optimize processes and cut costs, effectively bypassing intermediaries. The trends reflected here demonstrate realistic projections based on documented industry changes, providing a reliable representation of this transformation in the CRE market. Is your organization embracing the future by investing in building in-house expertise to leverage new technologies, or is it still relying on traditional strategies centered around intermediaries? #CRE #commercialrealestate #proptech #fintech #technology

The Q3’24 numbers are in and…the venture reset continues. Global venture funding and deals dropped last quarter, falling back to 2016/17 levels. The funding decline was felt across fintech, digital health, retail tech, and even AI. However, amid the decline, AI remained the champ in the venture arena. It pulled 1 out of every 3 VC dollars in Q3’24 — more than any other sector. Explore the evolving VC landscape in our State of Venture Q3’24 Report: https://cbi.team/3TWvdWR

Back in 2017 when we became increasingly involved in PropTech as a real estate owner/operator/investor, it was clear that the sector was highly segmented. Owners, startups, corporates, and VC’s—everyone in their corner. ❓👇🏼👇🏼 In many ways the panel that I took part in at Blueprint: The Future of Real Estate in Las Vegas this week titled “Where Top Real Estate Investors Are Placing Their Tech Bets” represented how far this field has come since then, as the panel included a diverse group of investment leaders. From Chris Gough who is a leading PropTech banker with Houlihan Lokey to Momei Qu a leading equity growth investor with PSP Growth and Drew Conway Head of Data Science for Two Sigma private equity real estate division. Here’s just a few topics we covered: 🏋️♀️Challenges in the equity and IPO markets, from private equity real estate to startups and established technology companies—and what leaders in the industry are doing to get ahead of the curve. 🙋♂️How does AI factor into the decisions of everyone and investment committees, from practical real estate applications, to investment thesis for growth investors like PSP. 🏢How does a family enterprise and/or a institutional investor with billions of AUM integrate technology into their operations, what drives the decisions, and how does it drive value to real estate LP’s 😱The impact on interest rates on everything, from proptech companies to real estate investors. 🤔The benefit or disadvantage of real estate owners as strategic LP’s ❓Why would a billion dollar private equity real estate business hire a team of data scientist to build proprietary models? And of course beyond HLC Equity’s investment business, I enjoyed telling the story of how PropTech360 was formed in Israel and the opportunities that exist for global and regional collaboration on a global scale when building a cohesive ecosystem. It was an impressive conference and great connecting with those who were present.
