We're pleased to announce two exceptional new additions to the Continuum Advisory Partners team: Patrick Lawther and Cody Nissen. Patrick joins us from Deloitte to co-lead our wealth, pensions, and asset management M&A advisory business alongside Myles Phillips. With two decades of experience in the sector, his expertise will be invaluable to our clients. Cody joins us from Goldman Sachs' FIG investment banking team, bringing unique experience in financial technology and software. A former US Marine Corps infantry officer, Cody's leadership and expertise will strengthen our fintech advisory capabilities. Continuum has grown substantially since inception and we see tremendous opportunity to continue our growth momentum in the coming years. To capitalise on it, we continue to invest in our core sectors, including wealth and financial technology and software advisory, where Patrick and Cody bring substantial expertise. Possibly my favorite thing about her is the transparent and conflict-free way she manages her portfolio. It's absolutely ridiculous that we allow any senior member of the Federal (or arguably State) government to hold individual stock without real oversight. Every partner at a major law firm in America either does what Mamala does, gets absolutely tortured with conflict checks, or puts their money in a blind trust where someone else manages it. Conflict compliance systems are baked and work. All members of Congress should be subject to this basic compliance, and it's nice to see a candidate who takes it seriously. #Harris2024

When Jamie Dimon talks ... so often Wall Street listens. Jamie Dimon has been asked countless times over the last several years how much longer until he retires, the answer has always been the same, "more than five years". Jamie was just asked again, how much longer, and his response now: "the plan is well on the way". As a financial advisor this is another area where listening to Jamie Dimon can help you. If you are considering retirement in five years, then your plan should also be well on the way, when it comes to looking for your succession the best time to start is when you have more than five years left. While Jamie Dimon's succession plan is vastly different from that of a financial advisor's plan, the goal of having one well in hand with five years to go is clearly similar. As a financial advisor having more time creates more options and even can generate a better price. If you are considering a succession in the next 10 years, you should understand what your options are and how to maximize them. At yesterday's investor day, Jamie Dimon finally gave some clues as to the possible timeline of his retirement. In my opinion, this will be a very interesting study case in succession management. Jamie Dimon has been spearheading the bank since December 2005, helping grow the assets from $1.2T to $3.9T at the end of 2023; navigating the turbulent period of the GFC; bailing out struggling banks and even the U.S. financial system; all thanks to his mantra of the "fortress balance sheet". Will JP Morgan and Jamie Dimon find a successor that follows and builds upon the values and principles that made them become the biggest bank in the world (and arguably the greatest in history)?
