The CIE Chairman, Dr. Mujahed Al-Dhaifallah, expressed his gratitude towards the IRC for Sustainable Energy Systems at the Research Institute (RI), KFUPM for hosting the Department delegation on 29 February 2024. The IRC-SES Director, Dr. Atif Alzahrani, welcomed the CIE Team and presented center activities and research collaboration and student engagement opportunities between the center and the department. Then, the IRC-SES researchers, Dr. Dr. Amir Al-Ahmed, FRSC, Dr. Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Dr. Binash Imteyaz, PhD, CEM, and Engr. Youssef Awda facilitated a tour of various laboratories (energy auditing, solar PV, power systems, etc.) in the center and demonstrated their ongoing and completed projects. The mission of the IRC-SES is to accelerate the development of innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions, policies, and programs with social, environmental, and economic impacts that contribute to the objectives of SAUDI VISION 2030. The center aims to develop technologies to ensure stable power supplies with bulk integration of renewable energy resources, manage energy systems components smartly and efficiently by incorporating IR 4.0 solutions, and enable renewable energy technologies for clean energy transition.
