Let's start the week off with another Curious Customer Experience... My son turns 5 today. We celebrated over the weekend at a popular kid friendly restaurant/arcade who will remain nameless. We had an awesome time and the smiles on my son's face made it memorable. However, BEFORE the event, my wife (who booked the party) received the email below. First, I was surprised to get a pre-event survey asking about our experience and instructing us to fill it out after the event took place. The timing just seemed off. But more upsetting in this crazy CX world is the vendor telling us to "click the link below and rate your server a Perfect 10." This has to stop. Gaming the system, inflated scores, demanding perfection....where does it end? Things happen, and if you want honest feedback, simply provide people the option to give exactly that. #customerexperience #surveys #givemea10

After a few days back home, I’ve had the chance to reflect on Mobile Disrupt 2024 and some of my key takeaways from this years’ show. • Shared Thinking: We exist in a market which is big enough for us all to ‘win’. We share thinking to help us succeed in our collective mission to deliver the very best services to our shared customer base. • Collaboration: The opportunity when you think as one entity is limited to your capabilities & resources, but when you open your mind and your business to others the horizons are much greater. • Listen, Observe & Learn: You can learn a lot from observing the way others operate (good and bad). Contrary to popular belief, it’s important to turn your attention to what others’ are doing in order to become and maintain the very best version of yourself. Staying true to those points, one of the things I’m looking forward to the most in terms of follow up, is collaborating with CTIA, GSMA, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, Amazon and Reebelo to define simple and consistent consumer facing grading standards. We live in a highly technical world and yet we are still finding ways to over-complicate things. So thanks to CTIA, we’ve all agreed to work together to develop uniform standards which help to organize, streamline and simplify the secondary CE market. Shout if you’d like to join us.
