Did you get the rejection email? Rejection of any kind hurts. Yesterday the organisers of the TCS London marathon sent out their confirmation or rejection emails for 2025 event. There will be runners up and down the country who will have been dreaming of that ballot place. Yet the odds are so slim. For 50,000 places, there are categories of entrants which are first applied way before ballot places are given. Elite athletes Good for age Celebrities Charity groups Ballot from 500,000 applicants I’ve heard that you have a 2% chance of getting into the ballot. So why do we get so upset when we get the rejection email? Logic seems to be ignored. We tell stories in our heads. We place ourselves front and centre of the story. It’s not fair because xxx. So how do we prepare ourselves for news which we don’t want to hear? What options do we have? How hard are we prepared to work to make it happen? You might have been secretly relieved that you didn’t get a place. Or maybe you got a place and are now dreading the thought of that training. It’s not the 26.2 miles which is hard. It’s the 600 training miles in cold, wet and windy conditions. Sadly I didn’t get a ballot place but I’m looking at my options and Brighton is looking favourable for 2025. I may not get an elite runner but I plan to get a PB! What about you?

It's another world record for London Marathon Events Over 840,000 people applied to run the 2025 TCS London Marathon. That's remarkable. And, yet, not shocking. This year's TCS London Marathon was glorious. Once again. Notably, almost half of the applicants were women for the first time. (50.33% men/49.03%women /.64% non-binary) Inspired by the #NewYorkCityMarathon in 1979, London Marathon co-founder Chris Brasher challenged London to have the "heart and hospitality to welcome the world" like New York and said, "To believe this story, you must believe that the human race can be one joyous family, working together, laughing together, achieving the impossible…" All these years later, that's still the essence of the magic that inspires people to dream big. As Charlie Dark MBE MBE , founder of #RunDemCrew, encourages on Marathon Sunday, "If you don't run, cheer." Congrats to everyone who ran London and Boston (and any of the several marathons and half-marathons of late), and hear-hear to those who worked or cheered (or both). You start the flywheel by inspiring others to give it a go. Kudos to Hugh Brasher and the London Marathon Events team for your inclusive vision and ambition to get everyone active and add and grow events. Way to go to our Let's Do This team developing and executing the tech behind the ballot and LME's registrations and bringing a passion for getting more people together offline. Good luck to everyone who applied! There's no need to wait; it’s a great time to start and invite others to run, as it's one month until #GlobalRunningDay... <iframe src="https://lnkd.in/gDBs5wGG" height="577" width="504" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Embedded post"></iframe>
Another year, another amazing record. 🎉 We're delighted to have delivered a new record-breaking ballot for the 2025 TCS London Marathon, improving on last year's total by a mind-blowing 250k applications. None of this would be possible without the months of hard work put in across London Marathon Events & Let's Do This teams - congratulations to all those involved. Best of luck to the 840,318 of you who applied...you might just need it this year! https://lnkd.in/efiHw9NF

🚨 Exciting News! 🚨 We’re thrilled to announce that Next Level Cricket Academy is now officially a Period Supportive Academy! 🏏💪 With disposable period products and FabLittleBags available at every training session, NLCA is creating a welcoming and supportive space where girls can focus on their skills and confidence, knowing they’re cared for—whether they’re on their period or not. 🌟 Founded by Kira Chathli and Sebastián Connor in 2020, NLCA aims to provide high-level coaching for girls while promoting access to relatable female role models. In an environment where girls are developing their cricket talents and boosting their confidence, it’s essential to consider their overall well-being. Periods can still bring anxiety, especially in sports where access to proper disposal facilities has been limited in the past. By partnering with FabLittleBag, NLCA is breaking down these barriers, making sure that no girl feels held back by her period. This initiative not only supports athletic development but also encourages responsible period product disposal, empowering girls to feel confident and prepared, on and off the field. 💥 #femaleathletes #femaleathlete #womenssports #girlsinsports #femalecoach #womensfootball #womenscricket #womansrugby #teamgb #periods #periodproducts #fablittlebag #periodstories #periodsbelike #madefromplants #menstrualhealth #periodcarepackage

🎯 From Futsal to a Degree Apprenticeship: Balancing High-Level Sport with Professional Growth 💼⚽ Throughout my Futsal career, I’ve had the honor of competing at the highest levels, including representing England U19 in multiple European competitions as vice-captain, and playing in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. The dedication and discipline needed for competitive sport shaped who I am today and now helps me navigate a new chapter: my journey as a degree apprentice. Training 2-3x a week, alongside going to the gym 4-5x a week with a game most weekends can be difficult to manage alongside my coding projects and other work, but I’m learning to balance my professional development with my passion for sport. The skills I developed in Futsal have so far proven invaluable as I tackle this new challenge: Time Management: In Futsal, managing my time between training, competitions, and schoolwork was critical. Now, those same skills help me balance full-time work, studies, and the gym. Resilience & Mental Toughness: Playing at a competitive level, especially on the European stage, required grit and mental strength. Today, those experiences help me navigate the demanding world of work and study while still pursuing my love for Futsal. Adaptability: Transitioning from youth teams to the Men’s Futsal setup mirrors the adjustments I’ve made from the sporting world to professional life. Both require flexibility, quick learning, and constant growth. As I continue to pursue my goals on and off the field, I’m grateful for the lessons Futsal has taught me and how they’ve prepared me for the challenges I face as a degree apprentice. To anyone managing multiple passions, stay dedicated and don’t be afraid to push boundaries. Each step forward is a step toward growth. #DegreeApprentice #Futsal #EnglandFutsal #ChampionsLeague #TimeManagement #Resilience #GrowthMindset #AthleteLife #HardWork #Adaptability

All players from my ex clubs🇷🇸🇭🇺🇦🇹🇩🇰🇮🇪🇲🇹🇮🇳 they know, on the team training is "NO EASY" basket❗ 1️⃣Give a challenge - to be useful for the players technical/tactical development also must to be harder situation than on the game 2️⃣Provide a clear vision 3️⃣Have Fun 4️⃣Be Versatile - not to repeat often, never let for your players that they can think or say "we are doing it again" 5️⃣If your players talking about it after the "challenge drill" for days/weeks/months than you did also a team building on the training "Every challenge has a mindset required to overcome it." #phoenixbasketballcamp #romania #Galati #coacheslife #coachlifestyle #hardwork #energy #enthusiasm #passionate #motivation #dedication #character #charisma #neversurrender #neverstoplearning #neverstopexploring
