Welcome to baseball's rite of passage...
Watch this video to get a sense of what it's like to experience Cooperstown All Star Village as a 12-year-old baseball player.
Cal Ripken, Jr., Hall of Famer and Co-Founder of Ripken Baseball, also caught up with our team this summer during a visit with our coaches and players.

There's nothing like the first time you run on the field. Look for the play and it's a big league stadium and you're out there playing. It's it's the coolest thing. Ohh. Great looking ballpark line drive down the left field side. Albert Bell can't get it. Face it. And Cal Ripken has the Orioles third hit of the afternoon. The single biggest legacy that Cow has left behind is how to play the game right, how to be a sportsman. For the other team, everybody who comes through Cooperstown is now going to experience the Ripken way of playing baseball, the Ripken way of respecting baseball, the Ripken way of how to not only play the game, but how to act around the game. To be here and have their entire teams family behind you is incredible, but then to also have people support you just because you're out, you're playing a game that everyone here loves so much. I think that really speaks to the true love of the game that's here at Cooperstown. This magical year in a baseball player's life is their 12 New year. It's a magical moment where you're still dreaming about playing Major League Baseball. You get a chance to play against competition from all across the United States. Here in Cooperstown, all these 12 year olds come to the same spot at the same time and they get a chance to meet new people. This is our last game of the season. Bear down with whatever you got left in the tank. Gonna win it, right? All right, all right here. Say no sidelines. We're going to play baseball. Let's go, let's go. You can't replay yesterday's game, although we can learn something from what we did. You can't play tomorrow's game until it gets here, so you might as well worry about this one. A focus on what you're doing now to be in the moment, and focus on what you can do in that particular game that could help your team win. Id.
Love this video! And huge thanks to Allison Lacey, MS, for participating in the video and bringing your spectacular girls to Cooperstown All Star Village two years in a row. See you soon!
