Our “baby” is right on schedule. 🕗 Every new arrival can benefit from a routine. In our case, the new Juggerbot Series P3-44 printer, a medium-format pellet-fed #additivemanufacturing (#PFAM) machine, is now on a regular schedule of operations at SABIC’s Polymer Processing Development Center in Pittsfield, Mass. Next step – evaluating all of our PFAM materials to understand how they perform on the printer in scenarios like overhang/underhang situations and torturous path profiles. We’ll also determine throughput capability and optimum print speeds/temperatures. Synthetic rubber, on the other hand, is created in a lab, mimicking the properties of natural rubber. Though Rubbers are seemingly simple material, forms the foundation of countless industries. From the tires that propel us to the medical gloves that protect us, understanding its properties is crucial. "Mooney viscosity is the cornerstone of understanding rubber processing behavior, paving the way for optimal product quality." Mooney value is like a code for rubber stiffness. A higher number means the rubber is stiffer and harder to work with, but might be better for strong products. A lower number means it's softer and easier to mold, but might not be as strong. It helps pick the right rubber for the job!
