Making a GREAT team takes time and dedication. Not just one person can take care of everything but when your whole team can support each other, that’s when you can grow together. Example: When your team can come together, sharing their strengths and weaknesses. Come up with a strategy on how you can be successful together by using each other’s strengths and weaknesses, there isn’t ANYTHING that can stop you!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO AT WORK: - be in a place that isn’t work - talk about things that aren’t work - learn about your colleagues beyond who they are in work Yesterday was lovely, motivating and also relaxing after the slog of the last few weeks. Here’s to more of these! 🙌 #studio #team #teambuilding
What an incredible team ⚡️ TEAM GOALS ⚡ Yesterday marked our second Spark Inside Out day, and it was fantastic! We kicked things off by continuing our Confidence Programme. This time, everyone practiced their presentation and public speaking skills by sharing their Unpopular Opinion. The topics were definitely intriguing, with plenty of laughs, debates and controversy! It was a great way to help everyone step out of their comfort zones. Next, we had our monthly Like Club, which is always a hit and really gets our minds buzzing with fresh ideas. To wrap up the day and clear our heads, we went on a group walk to Rivington Pike. Even the weather was manageable – we had a picnic under the trees, enjoyed the blustery views from the top, and celebrated with cold beers at the bottom. A great way to blow the cobwebs away and bond with the guys! Days like these are essential, and we’re definitely planning more soon. Big thanks to Neil Marra, Calandra Tennant, Charlotte Wand, Olly Sussams, Anna Tolstoluzhska, Kate Rabjohns, Lindsay Brown, Nicol Pomfret, Emillie Watson, Abbie Lawton and not forgetting Max 🐾

Sarah Downing was my former supervisor at my last full-time role. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with her about her leadership style, sharing both my positive feedback and constructive critiques from my time with Sonova Group Advanced Bionics and Phonak. To my surprise, she listened openly, expressed gratitude for my feedback, and wished me well in my career. In my view, companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, like my former employer, could benefit from greater scrutiny on expenses related to business trips, particularly those aimed at "team-building" for teams that have already been established and have met multiple times for the same purpose. Repeated expenditures on such trips can feel excessive and, in some cases, wasteful. A case in point: Sonova Group, through Advanced Bionics and Phonak, offers high-priced products, which are unfortunately out of reach for many people. The true production costs of these advanced devices are rarely transparent (though publicly available information can shed light on this). Repeated meetings often resulted in the same discussions and ideas being revisited, recorded, and re-purposed without significant new insights—often culminating in high costs and minimal tangible outcomes. While the dinners and social gatherings were pleasant, they sometimes felt unnecessary. For example, spending over $30,000 for a few days' meeting raises questions, and this concern was echoed by many former colleagues. I recall an instance in 2019, during preparations for the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco, when an assistant to a VP mentioned that the travel costs for that trip exceeded her monthly earnings. This comment was a sobering reminder of the gap between expenditure and practical value. While I enjoy traveling and value team interactions, I believe healthcare companies, especially those focused on life-changing products, should exercise more prudence with resources. In other industries, frequent team-building trips may be beneficial or necessary, but within medical companies that aim to improve lives, every expense should be carefully considered to ensure that funds are used responsibly. After all, you can spend only what you have once, and I believe this money truly belongs to the people who depend on these products—those who live with hearing loss and dream of hearing the world. #corporation #sonova #phonak #advancedbionics #businesstrips #moneywasting #hearingloos #cochlearimplants #equality #teambuilding
In the effort/impact matrix of life, team building is a high impact, low effort, “just do it” quick and easy win, amirite? Leading this team has been a present, how lucky I am. I could not be prouder. ❤️ These have been for me the most important learnings these years: - Have a vision of how you imagine the future of your team, and communicate clear & transparent to all members. Never loose your true objetive despite the obstacles, but always adapt the path. Involve your team along the way to ensure we all have a common target - Be coherent, your actions must be aligned to your words, to gain real trust and credibility. Be an example of what you want your team to be. - Understand that everybody is different, with different interests, ambitions, fears, desires and intentions. Take time to know individually each person. When you identify their strenghts, do all in your hands to give them opportunities to grow and shine - Create connections among the team, generate sense of belonging, foster links and collaborations - Listen, a lot. Best ideas comes from those that best know, just give space for them to propose. And be open to be corrected, you are not infallible Thanks my friends to "give me a bunch of hands" to help me on a new adventure

When leaders possess emotional intelligence and work together as a team, they can create a strong and productive work environment. A team of emotionally intelligent leaders can communicate and collaborate effectively, understand and support the needs of their team members, and work towards a shared vision and goals. Leaders who possess emotional intelligence can also provide support and guidance to each other, and help each other manage and regulate their emotions in high-pressure situations. They can also lead by example, modeling the behavior they expect from their team members, and creating a positive and productive work culture. Overall, a team of emotionally intelligent leaders can be a powerful force, motivating and inspiring their team members to achieve success and driving their organization towards its goals.

Great teams aren't just a group of great individuals. They’re made up of people who come together for one mission, with a common goal, lead by those who clearly point everyone toward that goal.
