Box breathing (also known as square breathing or Sam Vritti breath) is a powerful technique used to calm the nervous system. In fact, even the U.S. Navy SEALs, use this method to manage stress and maintain focus in high-pressure situations. Box breathing involves breathing around the shape of a box, it can help to visualise drawing around a box while following an even-count pattern: Eg: inhale for 4 seconds, hold the breath for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, and hold the breath out for 4 seconds. Repeat this cycle for 2-5 minutes. The key is to keep the counts even, whether it's 2, 4, 6, or any other count that feels comfortable. This technique can be practiced anywhere, making it an accessible tool for reducing anxiety, enhancing focus, and promoting overall well-being. With National Relaxation Day this Friday, it's a great time to integrate techniques into your day to help shift away from the fight-or-flight response and bring a sense of calm to your mind and body. #breathwork #mindfulness #nationalrelaxtionday #workwellnessintoyourworkday

Stop and Breathe! Lessons from Navy SEALs on Mastering Stress Box breathing, also known as four-square breathing, is a powerful yet simple technique adopted by Navy SEALs to maintain calm and focus in high-pressure environments. Ideal for athletes, executives, and anyone seeking to manage stress, this method is not only about control but also resilience. Here's how you can practice box breathing: - Inhale: Slowly draw breath through your nose, counting to four. - Hold: Keep your breath held in, silently counting to four again. - Exhale: Gently release your breath through your mouth over another count of four. - Hold: Pause again with empty lungs for the final count of four. This "box" pattern of equal-length steps forms a rhythmic cycle that can significantly quiet your mind and soothe your nervous system. Repeat the cycle for several minutes whenever you need a moment of peace or a reset from the day’s chaos. Try incorporating box breathing into your daily routine and share your experiences. How does it change the way you handle stress? Try it now with this simple visual: #Mindfulness #StressRelief #Focus #PeakPerformance

Have you ever noticed how our bodies hold onto memories and emotions? It's fascinating! Did you know our bodies actually hold memories of past experiences in the form of sensations? Biodynamic breathwork explores this fascinating aspect by honing in on these subtle cues. Our bodies are like maps of our emotional journeys, with each sensation telling its own story. Sometimes these stories are hard to put into words, but that's where breathwork shines. By tuning into these sensations and allowing them to flow, we can release old patterns and rediscover a sense of inner calm. Imagine your breath as a gentle guide through emotional landscapes often inaccessible through words alone. It's a journey towards emotional freedom, letting your body speak its truth and guiding you towards healing from the inside out. Next time you notice a tightness in your chest or a knot in your stomach, take a moment to breathe into it. Allow your body to lead you towards a deeper understanding of yourself. 🌊🌼 #EmotionalLandscapes #BodySensations #HealingJourney #MindfulLiving #InnerWisdom #EmotionalRelease #TraumaHealing #BodyMindConnection #SomaticHealing #SelfDiscovery #Mindfulness #HolisticWellness #EmotionalHealth #BodyMemory #HealingPath

Feet on the earth, spine tall, crown of the head reaching upwards… Walk with one foot in front of the other… Feel the earth beneath your feet… Heel to toe… Grounding. Are you walking on the earth or is the earth supporting you? This is your place. This is your home. Come home. Feel that sense of connection. Feel that sense of belonging. Welcome your deepest self home. You are home. Let’s meditate… For today, take you pick… We can generally meditate sitting or standing or even lying down, but for today, choose between sitting or standing as we want to ground ourselves. Nice tall spine. Have a sense of your root chakra at the base of your spine, anchoring you to your self and to the ground and to your practice today. 3 deep breaths to ground and release down; in through the nose, out through the mouth. At the level of thought begin to introduce todays Bija Mantra for stabilising the root chakra LAM This is a strong, long vibrational sound… Continue repeating the mantra, deep and low, with a sense of stabilisation at the root, ground down, connecting you to the earth and to the present moment. Continue like this for 10 minutes. Then gently float your eyes open. Namaste. #welcomehomeretreats #yogaretreat #yogaretreats #luxuryretreat #meditation #wellbeing #wellbeingwarrior #wellbeingretreat #wellbeingretreats #wellness #wellnessjourney #wellnessretreats #wellnessretreat #grounding #outdoors #environment #earth #dinglefilmwalks #mindfulness #mindful

Ready for body scan? Quick Body Scan for Relaxation - Find a comfortable position. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Take a few deep breaths, feeling your belly rise and fall. - Begin by noticing your whole body. Simply observe any sensations without judgment. Now, slowly move your attention down your body: - Toes and feet: Wiggle them if you'd like. Notice any tension or relaxation. - Legs: Feel their weight against the chair or surface. - Hips and belly: Notice any tightness or the rise and fall of your breath. - Chest and shoulders: Soften any tension with each exhale. - Neck and face: Release any jaw clenching. - Head: Briefly notice any sensations. Finally, come back to your whole body. Breathe deeply into any areas that hold tension, allowing them to soften. Take a few moments to rest. When ready, wiggle your fingers and toes, take a deep breath, and gently open your eyes, feeling grounded. Tip: If your mind wanders, simply bring your attention back to the body part you're focusing on.
