We are pleased to announce that IFET has successfully imported SKYCLARYS, a lifechanging treatment for Friedreich Ataxia. Greece is now among the first countries in Europe to provide access to this innovative medicine, following its FDA approval just four months ago. Friedreich Ataxia, a debilitating condition that predominantly affects children, has long been a challenge for patients and their families. The arrival of SKYCLARYS offers new hope and a promising therapeutic option for hundreds of individuals affected by this disease. This milestone underscores our commitment to advancing healthcare and ensuring that patients have access to the latest medical treatments. We extend our gratitude to all involved healthcare professionals, partners and of course the Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis, Greek Ministry of Health, Hellenic Friedreich's Ataxia Association whose collaborative efforts have made this possible. Over the past two years, REMA has established itself as the largest verified network of #doctors in the region, dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals with essential knowledge and resources. Today, REMA’s mission is more critical than ever as they take a significant step forward in collaboration with the #pharmaceuticalindustry. Enhancing #MedicalKnowledge and Reducing Errors Medical errors remain a pressing concern in many parts of Africa, often due to limited access to up-to-date medical information and resources. REMA’s vision is to drastically reduce these errors by ensuring that doctors are well-informed and equipped with the latest knowledge. By fostering a community where #medicalprofessionals can share insights, discuss cases, and access verified information, REMA is creating an environment conducive to continuous learning and improvement. With over half of Nigeria's population facing poverty and limited access to essential medicines, the adverse effects extend across individuals, families, and communities. Driven by this need, we constantly seek innovative approaches to address this challenge. In this light, we are spotlighting one of our publications on the perceptions of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) and Communities of the Tiered Accreditation Programme for Family Planning Services in Lagos and Kaduna States, Nigeria. This study evaluated the perception of 224 patent and proprietary medicine vendors (PPMVs) of the accreditation programme to improve their capacity to provide family planning (FP) services in Lagos and Kaduna, Nigeria using a cross-sectional mixed-method approach. Bridging Tradition & Innovation: Clinical Trials in Nigeria ⚕️ In my latest research work, I explored how Zingerone could potentially help alleviate symptoms of multiple sclerosis. My research covered all things multiple sclerosis: the disease itself, how it's diagnosed, its effects on patients' lives, and the available treatments. This journey made me realise how crucial clinical trials are in health care. They play a pivotal role in shaping medical interventions and improving patient outcomes through the development and evaluation of new treatments, medications, and medical devices. Clinical trials in Nigeria are gaining momentum but still face several challenges such as inadequate regulatory oversight, infrastructure limitations, and ethical considerations. Nigeria is blessed with numerous plant resources capable of addressing various medical conditions. By conducting quality clinical trials, we can employ an evidence-based approach to validate the traditional uses of these remedies, effectively integrating them into modern healthcare practices. As an early career researcher, I am committed to contributing to the advancement of quality clinical trials and collaborating with fellow researchers to pool our expertise and resources to improve healthcare outcomes in Nigeria and beyond! #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #traditionalmedicine #ihvn #irce #who #worldhealthday #🇳🇬
