Corus organization IMA World Health takes a unique proactive approach to social and behavior change in our health programming, intentionally planning for shocks and stressors in fragile settings. Our approach follows five principles: 1️⃣ Use two-way participatory approaches to increase accountability and health care-seeking behavior; 2️⃣ Map opportunities in SBC linked to the resilience capacities; 3️⃣ Prepare community health workers prior to crises to support individuals, communities, and households during shocks and stresses; 4️⃣ Identify coordination and collaboration structures; and 5️⃣ Be nimble and pivot as needed. ➡️ Learn more about our inclusive, human-centered and highly participatory approach to SBC: https://bit.ly/4ax73Yu #SocialBehaviorChange #SBC #Inclusive #Humancentered [Pictured: Wadallah Jackson, Assistant Midwife and Family Planning Advisor for Lologo Health Center in South Sudan, facilitates a family planning workshop with the surrounding community. Establishing institutions that must be the foundation for a fully functional Fund. 4. 🏅 One of the most rewarding parts of my work is transforming complex data into engaging communication products that inspire action. For me, communication isn’t just about sharing information—it’s about driving meaningful social change. Every infographic, story, or campaign I create aims to spark conversations, empower people, and make a difference. THE 2024 UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE DAY I and other vibrant youth advocates were shortlisted earlier this month to drive the 2024 Universal Health Coverage Day. We successfully submitted advocacy letters across different Ministries and parastatals of Health, Climate and Environment in Africa. As a UHC Champion, I understand Health literacy plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all individuals, particularly marginalized populations, can access, understand, and utilize health information to make informed decisions. It enhances the efficiency of health systems by reducing misinformation, preventing disease, and encouraging the use of appropriate healthcare services. However, gaps in health literacy continue to limit access to care and exacerbate inequities, especially among young people and vulnerable communities. As the largest demographic group in many countries, young people are uniquely positioned to drive the UHC agenda. Youth-friendly health services, inclusive decision-making platforms, and capacity-building initiatives are essential to harness their potential. When empowered, youth can act as advocates, peer educators, and innovators, strengthening community health systems and bridging gaps in care. #AfricaPHSN #WHOYouthCouncil #ONEHEALTH

At the end of its scoping mission, the HeDPAC delegation had a fruitful discussion with the Ministry of Health team led by Secretary General Dr. Issa Ouedraogo. The health sector is doing commendable work at the primary level with a well-structured community health system program, with Agents Itinérants de Santé (AIS) being transitioned into more qualified positions as Agents de Santé Communautaires (ASC). Community mobilisation is a strong component of the community health programme with engagement of youth, men, and women as well as indigenous community based organizations. Key recommendations were discussed and agreed upon, including rationalizing the allocation of ASC in health posts and ensuring adequate time in the community to address pressing health challenges, expanding career pathway opportunities for future growth, capacity building, supply system improvements and digitalization, among others. HeDPAC will work with the #MOH to build strong and resilient community health programme. #BurkinaFaso #communityhealth #capacitybuilding #digitalization #futuregrowth #HeDPAC
