Thank you, Gabriele Grikstaite for your insightful article on using Smart Marketing to build your smart growing businesses that bring profit. Marketing is no longer just a department—it’s a growth engine. Here’s why: • Businesses that prioritize marketing see up to 2.5 times higher revenue growth. • Marketing fuels everything from customer acquisition to brand loyalty. How are executives staying ahead? 1. Data-driven strategies – Using data to make smarter marketing decisions. 2. Customer-centric messaging – Speaking directly to the needs and desires of your audience. 3. Digital transformation – Embracing new tools and platforms to stay competitive. The key? Aligning your marketing with broader business goals to drive measurable impact.
Corporate told me "marketing is just a support function. Don't aspire to do real business". Funny, because I've built 2 thriving businesses from the ground up relying on my marketing skills. I’m not here to bash corporate. There are great people in those roles. But I have strong opinions about the mindset of marketing being a support function. A place where you send ppt slides to last minute for edits so the partners can go to market and do "real business". (🙄) Because the power of marketing done right IS = real business. When I quit corporate I went from being an unknown consultant to getting DM's from CEOs asking for advice. Without endless coffee meets, 0 networking events, and no multi million € marketing budget. Just smart marketing leveraged to sign clients. In 2024, you don’t need to: - Hide behind a corporate facade - Push annual "insights" reports as lead magnets - Hire PR agencies to place you in industry news Sure, you can do those things, but the ROI is shrinking. Here’s what you need instead ↓ Build authority & trust at scale. 56% of customers want more relatable, personable content from brands on social media. Yet 48% of brands are still pushing self-promotional content. How can you, as a CEO, CMO, or executive, tip the scales? Be active on LinkedIn as your authentic, professional self. Here’s the 3-step strategy I used on LinkedIn: - Network strategically to build genuine relationships - Post 3x per week with actionable insights - Share personal stories from my experience in my posts I use the same strategies to scale reputations for C-suite execs who want to attract clients, top talent or investors. "From the first post, Gabriele has been instrumental in building my thought leadership. Gabriele transformed my LinkedIn presence from day one, expertly aligning my personal brand strategy with impactful posts. Her deep understanding of communications, PR, branding, and LinkedIn dynamics is unmatched.” N.B - General Manager, UAE Stop going to market the corporate way. Start attracting clients and top talent by scaling your reputation online. PS. If you’re a C-suite exec who wants to scale your reputation on LinkedIn, but you’re not sure how: 1. Ring the bell - I share how I do it. 2. Have me coach you, accelerate your results. 3. Have me do it for you, accelerate your results further. If you want option No. 2 or 3. DM me and let's chat.

"The art of communication is the language of leadership." – James Humes Effective leadership often involves thinking outside the box and embracing strategies that others might overlook. This is particularly true in marketing, where a blend of traditional and modern techniques can create powerful results. I vividly remember a pivotal moment in my career that underscored the importance of offline reach strategies. A few years ago, our company was facing stiff competition in a saturated market. Digital ads were becoming increasingly expensive, and our ROI was dwindling. We decided to reinvest in offline marketing. We launched a personalised direct mail campaign, hosted local community events, and partnered with influential local figures to build stronger connections with our target audience. The results were astounding. Not only did our brand visibility increase, but we also saw a significant uptick in customer loyalty and sales. This experience taught me the invaluable lesson that offline marketing strategies, when executed correctly, can complement and enhance digital efforts. Not only can it work locally, these kind of campaigns can be rolled out nationally and internationally. I was able to increase my reach to target the US and Europe from London, very effectively. In my latest video, "Discover the 5 secrets top brands use to excel with offline reach strategies!", I delve into the strategies that helped us turn the tide. You'll learn about integrating offline and online marketing, the power of personalized direct mail, the importance of local events, engaging multiple senses, and the impact of high-quality print materials. 📽️ Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/e2BmwGxe Discover the 5 secrets top brands use to excel with offline reach strategies! How have offline marketing strategies played a role in your business success, and what challenges have you faced in integrating them with your digital efforts? Is your marketing team feeling stretched thin? Here’s how to leverage internal support and an external agency for success. - For larger companies, a hybrid marketing solution often proves to be the most effective. Here’s why combining internal support with an external agency can be a game-changer: → Internal-external collaboration. Having one or two people on-site who work closely with your agency can significantly enhance efficiency. Their role is to coordinate with the agency, ensuring that all necessary resources and information are available to execute campaigns effectively. → Shared workload. Internal team members can help the agency by gathering assets, setting up interviews, and managing other tasks that require on-the-ground knowledge. This collaboration allows the agency to focus on strategic execution, reducing the burden on your internal team. → Mutual value. The internal team benefits from the agency’s expertise, while the agency gains invaluable insights and support from those on the inside. This partnership can relieve overworked internal staff and bring a sense of relief and renewed energy. Combining the strengths of both internal and external resources can lead to more effective marketing outcomes.

Ever sat in a meeting where your client casually mentions they're "exploring options with other agencies"? - - - - After so many years of running a PR agency, and working with various clients, one thing we have learned is that the client-agency ecosystem is more nuanced than most realize. The client-agency dynamic is like a complex dance where everyone's trying to lead. As someone who's been on both sides of the table, here's what I've learned: The reality is that most clients work with multiple agencies - creative, digital, PR, media buying - you name it. Each agency believes they should be the "lead" agency, fighting for a bigger slice of the budget pie. But here's the truth: This territorial behavior hurts everyone. •Clients get fragmented strategies •Agencies waste energy on turf wars •Campaign effectiveness suffers •Time gets wasted in ego battles •Budgets get stretched thin The solution? It starts with agencies adopting an abundance mindset. When we focus on complementing rather than competing, magic happens. Some of our best work emerged when we collaborated with "competitor" agencies, each bringing unique strengths to the table. For clients - clear swim lanes and transparent communication are key. When agencies understand their role and value, they stop playing defense and start delivering their best work. Success in modern marketing demands collaboration, not competition. What techniques have you used to improve multi-agency collaboration? Share your insights below 👇

Two days ago, I attended the FINN webinar titled "Beyond Performance: Trends in Digital Marketing, 2024". As a big fan of their blog posts, I found the webinar to be equally informative and insightful.🤌🏻 What did I take away from this webinar? In short, beyond performance marketing lies brand building! While this concept is familiar to marketers, it may not always receive the same level of attention from CEOs. The speakers, Raf Weverbergh and Ruben Ceuppens, emphasized that brand building is no longer just a long-term goal, but an essential investment for creating a strong brand image and driving sales. The ultimate aim of budget allocation towards activities is to enhance the brand image and increase popularity among the target audience, ultimately leading to increased sales. As a communications expert, I have always struggled to make the team believe that even though I cannot directly increase sales, these planned activities are important.😮💨 Most of the time, they viewed PR and communications as unnecessary, fancy steps in campaign planning. However, investing in communications and branding is crucial for the company and helps build trust in the process. Another challenge I face is measuring the success and quality of our activities. Setting only one KPI is not convincing to other teams.🤷🏼♀️ However, I learned from the webinar that REACH is the most important KPI for brand building. After taking various courses, reading articles, and gaining experience in setting goals for the communications and PR team, I still find the concept challenging. I believe there is always room for improvement, so I am committed to delving deeper into this concept. The webinar concluded with an excellent quote: “Do both.” This means integrating both performance marketing and brand building—don't skip one for the other. Thank you, FINN, for organizing the webinar. I look forward to more insights from you soon!☺️
