Jake's letter talks about Morgan Housel's latest book "Same as Ever". I bought and read this book immediately after it came out. A great read - I highly recommend it. In the book, Housel emphasizes the aspects of our lives and world that DON'T change, especially about the human psyche. Desire, greed, fear, anxiety - all things that are a constant in people. These constants, to an extent, equate to the predictability of our world. By better understanding how people react to news, turbulent markets, and uncertain political climates, we as advisors can more effectively guide our clients. Our investment philosophy focuses on DISCIPLINE - chasing short-term returns and immediate satisfaction won’t take you far, nor will it last.
