Since becoming a qualified personal trainer, I've been teaching a fitness class at my son's school, and the response has been amazing - with the numbers steadily growing! 🏋️♀️ It feels so rewarding to be able to empower these women on their fitness journeys and it's always great fun too. 💪 When work is hectic, it's easy to neglect your passions and overlook your achievements. What is your default response when others offer you help? 🤔 “I’m okay! Thanks!” “I’ve got it. Thanks for asking.” “Nope, I’m good!” Those were my automatic responses for a long time. However, this year, I have started to re-think those responses. And I have started to question why I thought it was such a bad thing to accept or even ask for support. And I know I’m not alone! We live in a culture that has become increasingly disconnected. We are expected to be self-sufficient. Be strong. Be tough. Be independent. However, we’re not only meant to give support, but receive it too. If you’re one of those people who is always giving care, but never accepts it yourself… I would challenge you to ask yourself why. What is stopping you from accepting or asking for support? Then take it one step further. The next time you could truly benefit from help, accept it and see how it feels.
