What about the structural waste? The typical European car is parked 92% of the time. On average we use 1,5 out of 5 seats while 86% of the fuel never reaches the wheels. Of course, we need a green transition where we electrify what we are doing. But we need to rethink the system at the same time. Here, circular business models and consumer behavior are key. We need to deliver better solutions for mobility than today's linear model, where convenience wins. Did you know that we have more space in Sweden for parking lots than for living space? That's crazy! I, by the way, love the concept of structural waste, where we need to have a bigger focus. This is from an old but good report by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation called Growth within: a circular economy vision for a competitive Europe. Unfortunately, I don't think much has happened except electrification and some car sharing models that have not taken as much market share as we would have hoped.
