This is fun to be part of, thank you to Dinis Cruz for bringing me to the front, and to Simon Wardley and Tudor Girba for such interesting conversation. The whole "chess board" idea has me thinking about my "game-based cyber security strategies" idea I've decided to launch - see https://lnkd.in/e9ymaud9 . This whole session was more game-related than I expected, but I think it was necessary considering the size of ideas Simon was throwing around, and so a context needed to be set. A few thoughts I had immediately, but I hope to make time to rewatch this. Your comments are welcome. - I'm not sure AI companies can influence their LLMs as much as Simon implies, which means the companies' control is less. Or it might mean their control is more haphazard, which could even be worse? - I really like the point about how this influence could affect how people think, it's the ultimate play in Influence Warfare. - While I'd like to see more on what teaching Critical Thinking would actually look like as far as concepts and course content. Especially as the phrase "they need to learn critical thinking" is often another way of saying "these people who disagree with me". But also I recall how much I got out of a tiny media studies section of my degree, there's so much to gain by getting into the habit of asking who is saying something, why they're saying it, and where the money comes from, rather than just accepting the media we receive at face value.
