It’s time to highlight our fall 2024 DAISY Award honorees! This recognition is given to nurses who go above and beyond to serve our patients.  Today, we are featuring Annslee Glenn, an RN in our Labor and Delivery unit. Anslee was nominated by a patient for being exactly who she needed in a tough time of her and her husband’s lives.  This story includes mentions of infant loss. Please read with caution if this is a sensitive topic for you. “Annslee was recently our nurse, caring for me and my husband on the worst day of our lives. In September, I was told my 38-week-old baby no longer had a heartbeat. At that moment, everything became a blur. Little did we know at that same time in a different room, a young nurse was calling in to see if her staff needed an extra hand. Annslee was brought in and placed on our situation, and it turned out to be a complete godsend. Ms. Glenn tended to our every need and was so caring and passionate about her job, we instantly knew we were in amazing hands. She handled our delicate situation with such grace that she made the process bearable. She constantly made sure that not only was I comfortable and well taken care of, but she went outside of her job and made my husband and my family as comfortable as possible while going through such a tragedy. After 7 hours in labor, we were able to meet our perfect angel. As we continued to love our baby, Annslee continued to give me such great care so that I didn't have to worry about anything else. She also went above and beyond with pictures and keepsakes about our baby girl so that we would never forget her. Annslee Glenn is an amazing person and a fantastic nurse that elevates Labor and Delivery at Cox South.”
