Tip #4: Cleanliness goes an extra mile I hate becoming all oily and dirty. I hate doing fault finding or repair work whilst getting so filthy that it takes me 2 hours just to clean myself up properly. Enough about me. Lets talk about what the Lift hates. * Dust in its electronic components. * Guide fluff and dust between rollers and guide shoes. * Oil on Nylon hanger rollers. * Dirty glass works * Grease on the Car Door Detectors * Dust and oil in the Governor assembly * Oil sludge build up in your safety gear * Dust on the buffer seals * Dust and filings on your magnetic floor reference systems The list goes on and on... Clean up your job. Thats part of preventative maintenance. Elevate your standards. Esculate your accountability.

The importance of a visual inspection certainly highlighted itself to me yesterday on one of our customers sites. While performing a vibration route, I come across this pump unit. It turned out all 4 bolts on this flange could be turned by hand. A quick dash to operator to let him know and the maintenance engineer quickly come with there trusty shifter to tighten them back up. After speaking to the engineer, I recommended thread lock or a spring washer to stop this happening again. #conditionmonitoring #reliability #visualinspection

How to 🛠️ Track Large Rotating Equipment Rotary dryers, kilns, mills and reactors turn on tires and trunnions. Each tire is mounted to the rotating shell and revolves on two roller trunnions. If the alignment between the tire and trunnions is lost due to wear, poor repair, installation error or impact, the equipment will need to be tracked. Learn how to track large rotating equipment in this article by Mike Sondalini (permission of Industrial Training - BIN95). https://lnkd.in/ekzFBZbT #rotatingequipment #maintenanceeducation #maintenanceandreliability #equipmentreliability

Daily Safety Tip for Contractors - Hard Hats, Proper Selection and Use. Identify the type of helmet by reading the inside of the shell for the manufacturer, ANSI designation, and class. Helmets are date stamped by the manufacturer and have a lifespan of roughly five (5) years or less. A summary of the new ANSI head protection classes is as follows: * Class E (Electrical, formerly Class B) helmets are intended to reduce the danger of high voltage electrical conductor exposure. * Class G (General, formerly Class A) helmets are intended to reduce the danger of low voltage electrical conductor exposure. * Class C (Conductive) helmets are not intended to provide protection from electrical conductors. #hardhats #ansi #reducedanger
