Is healthcare shifting toward viewing the patient in the same light as a consumer? According to Patrick Tarnowski, CCO @ OneStep, “Previously, health tech solutions primarily focused on physicians and other health care professionals, aiming to streamline their workflows and improve efficiency. However, as the industry evolves, it is becoming increasingly crucial for these solutions to appeal to and empower patients directly. This paradigm shift enhances end-user adoption rates by making health tech more accessible and relevant to patients, who are becoming more active participants in their health care. By focusing on patient needs, physicians and other clinicians can improve patient outcomes, increase satisfaction and build stronger engagement. This patient-centric approach demonstrates the tangible value of health tech, creating stronger collaborations between health care providers and health tech enterprises. Together, they can achieve mutual goals of improved care delivery and operational efficiency, setting the stage for a more efficient and patient-focused future.” #healthcare #healthtech #healthcareinnovation #patientcare #patientcentered #patientsatisfaction

I am grateful to Medical Economics for inviting me to explore the important topic of whether healthcare is shifting toward viewing the patient in the same light as a consumer. This conversation is crucial as we witness a significant evolution in the healthcare industry, where patient-centric approaches are becoming the norm. I am proud of the work we are doing at OneStep for the team's relentless focus on patient centricity. Healthcare is increasingly focusing on empowering patients, making health tech solutions more accessible and relevant. This shift not only improves patient outcomes and satisfaction but also fosters stronger engagement between patients and healthcare providers. By prioritizing patient needs, we are setting the stage for a more efficient and patient-focused future. #healthcare #healthtech #healthcareinnovation #patientcare #patientcentered #patientsatisfaction

Having long train journeys along with looking at the data for various other projects made me look into a few topics that are currently headlining around healthcare. I have written a few blog posts discussing change, or the potential for change. The first: challenging the status quo in healthcare delivery. From waiting lists to fragmented care pathways, these entrenched practices no longer meet the evolving needs of patients in an increasingly digital world. It’s time to challenge the status quo in healthcare delivery. The way we measure success, the patient experience, and the concept of personalised care must be radically reimagined.

Health care is evolving rapidly, with a shift towards patient-centric solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes. Engaged patients are 34% more likely to follow their treatment plans, leading to better health results. Health tech, such as remote monitoring, can reduce 30-day hospital readmission rates by 50%, saving costs and improving patient well-being. As we adopt these innovations, health care will become more personalized and effective. #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCentricCare #HealthTech

The digital revolution is remaking healthcare – from transforming patient experiences to making delivery more efficient. And healthcare providers are spending big, increasing their investments 18% annually. But in our conversations with healthcare leaders, we hear frustration about efforts than can't get off the ground and disappointing results for those that do. And recent research shows that only 21% of healthcare orgs say they have achieved “high digital maturity.” What’s going on? My colleague Prashant Srivastava and I unpack this disconnect in our new article. We explore how orgs that move beyond one-off, ad-hoc investments to integrating digital into their overall strategy and planning efforts can maximize benefits. Let me know what your thoughts are: what developments in digital healthcare inspire, and what leave you wanting for more?
