Depending on the specific characteristics of each part, the drying time can vary between 5 and 20 hours. With the summer finally here (even if it has been a bit hit and miss!), we’re sharing some more Wednesday Wisdom with another question we frequently get asked by our customers.   ❓ Today’s question is: “Can your products be used in hot weather?”   The short answer is YES! 😊 Our waterproofing systems can certainly be applied throughout the summer months, you just need to be aware that the curing times may be faster. This means that the embedment coats can be overcoated sooner, but it also means that the open period of the product prior to overlaying with the topcoat can sometimes be reduced from 7 to 5 days for Centech PU and from 5 to 3 days for Centech APA. ☀ Centaur systems are able to comfortably withstand hot temperatures too. They utilise carefully selected UV absorbers to take in radiation from the sun and release it as heat in a controlled way that does not cause damage to the coating. This helps to extend the life of our coatings by inhibiting the reactions that could otherwise lead to degradation, such as yellowing or even cracks. ☀ And what’s more, our use of UV stabilisers in both our base and our topcoats ensures the coating is constantly protected during its service life. 👏 Other unprotected polymeric coatings, however, can suffer from reduced resistance to stress and strains when exposed to heat and UV radiation – so our advice is to always check your product carefully. 🔥   #WednesdayWisdom #CentaurTechnologies #technicalsupport #centaurroofing #coldapplied #nonflammable #liquidwaterproofing #waterproofingexcellence #freemonomer
